Ruggybuggy, we had the -42 the other morning,(nw Ontario) I wanted to get a pic of the truck dash but I guess due to the block heater plugged in it was a balmy -36 under the hood :) My last vehicle would not display the temp below -40.....
I find my clutch is stiff below about -20, and below -30ish it does not warm up enough to ever move as freely as it should. May have to put some different fluid in for winter? Mil spec 5606 hyd oil perhaps?
I know the wind is cold, but it drives me crazy how the windchill becomes the temperature the media starts saying it is outside....

I did see -43c last week but didn't get a chance to take a picture. Where are you in NWO? I know what you mean about the temp with wind chill. I hear the new announcer say it was -85 and don't even mention the windchill factor.

if you want to warm up, your fridge is about 50-60 degrees warmer than outside and your chest/upright freezer is 30 degrees warmer than outside.

went to start the truck this morning in Minneapolis at -30 it started, but protested. The clutch pedal will probably be stiff as hell and annoying as hell, but what can you do.

When I first got the truck we lived in Iowa and I couldn't find anyone who would give me a price to put a block heater on it. I really should look into that again.

There are magnetic ones that you slap on the oil pan, pita, but it works and the labor is a lot less!

Exactly. Unless you are going outside without clothes on like a moron then windchill means nothing.
