Bought my truck used a month ago, Toyota CPO. Came with this weird bracket in rear center of the bed. Can anyone identify?

It helps support the OEM tonneau cover.

Factory tri-fold bed cover support. Do your bed rails have the cut outs for the other hardware?

I wish Toyota would have continued the bed rail system up front as well.

The front rail from the 2nd Gen will fit. Just need the rail and two end caps, it uses the existing torx screws in that location.

Tied several boat anchors to my truck to destroy MPG.
A lot of people break those so you may be a seller in the HIGHLY LUCRATIVE BEDRAIL SUPPORT THING ON THE FRONT OF THE BED market.

It is an easy part to miss. When I disassembled and sold my OEM tonneau, I almost left that part in the front like the previous owner of your truck. If you ever get a shell installed, you are going to want to remove that prior to shell installation.

Thanks for the heads up. I have a Bakflip G2 coming in tomorrow, so I imagine I’ll need to remove it for that.

Probably should call the dealership up and ask where your cover is? Put them on notice that you’ll be sending them an invoice on a replacement...lol

You are right, they were penny pinching. Just buy it from Amazon for close to $50.
