Anyone have any clothes dryer knowledge?

When was the last time the vent was cleaned ?

I've taken the whole vent pipe apart and looked

 

Take the vent completely off the back of the dryer.

Run a load.

Report back.

 

Also, there’s now 3 appliance technicians in here.

Please begin to ignore the other suggestions.

 

Do you have a knob that determines the drying level? Not sure how to word it, but ours has air dry, low, medium, etc.

 

I had the exact same problem. My vent is about 16ft long. Thought I had enough airflow until I ran a snake cleaning brush through it. Filled up a 5 gallon bucket with shit. Cut my drying time in half.

Total length is probably about 15 feet. Directly out the back of the unit is the hard but flexible pipe then on the other side of the wall starts the foil with the spiral wire type. It travels up that wall then across the garage ceiling til it dumps outside. No 90 degree angles in the pipe but prob about a 125 degree angle.

Worked on it again yesterday, we had a "Snow" day in Georgia.

Took the only duct work off that I hadn't previously taken off and cleaned it out. when I looked at it before I could see through both ends of the section, albeit having buildup in it, so I figured it was no big deal. After cleaning it out it seems to be back to normal after running a load. You dudes were right, a clog.

 

Good to hear. Check that duct every 5 years! Dryers burn a lot of houses down.

 

Yep we just bought this house about 6 months ago. From looking inside the duct work it looks like the previous owner replaced most of the pipe except for this section thats about 6 feet long.

 

Did you change the thermistor too? I believe there's a thermostat and a thermistor. My Samsung dryer blew 2 thermistors, which were all a cheap 8-12 dollar part which I replaced myself.

 

I admit this is the one thing I suck at.

Everytime the SO uses the dryer a couch cushion is found in the vent.
