All of a sudden, the little issues of Tacomas become a far distant cry....

The top is an easy fix, but my god that’s porous, cold weld. JL platform?

This was at my dealer yesterday when I went in for my 10k service.

    I just don’t know about a $49k Tacoma though. o_O

Thanks for pointing this out. I'm home today with a cold from hell, so I spent some time on the JL forums and you were dead on. Gives me a lot to consider. Scary shit.

Dealers seem to be getting more aggressive after the teaser was released on the 2020. I just had a dealer offer me a little over 11.5% off MSRP on a loaded Super White DCLB TRD Off Road 4x4. That included all rebates/incentives, but it was just over $5k on a $42k and change sticker.

I doubt its anything beside coincidence they will sell plenty 19s even with the 2020 announced. The 15s sold just fine even when the 16 was announced.

Yep, I'm trading my 2017 and had an appointment for this Saturday to test drive a 2019, but I called them to let them know that I'm waiting to see how the new 2020 looks like. They called me back and offered a 12% off the msrp. Honestly, i don't care about the electric seat, apple play, or any minor refresh. If they don't put a new transmission or engine. I'm probably getting a 2019.

Just to followup, I bought a loaded F150 Lariat Special Edition FX4 with pretty much all options. Quite a change, but I'm loving the truck. I'll most likely be back in a Tacoma at some point.

Thanks. I miss the size of the Tacoma already, but this thing is so comfortable, has a ton of power (3.5 Gen 2 Ecoboost w/ 10 Speed Automatic) and it drives great (and quietly). The B&O audio system rocks, adaptive cruise, all LED lighting, A/C seats, Pano Roof, etc. The backseat is almost limo like, tons of room.

Parking is a bitch, but otherwise, it gets about the same fuel economy as my 2016 Tacoma did. It cost me about $10k more than a TRD Pro, but I got 0% for 60 months from Ford and $27k trade on my 15 Tacoma.

My dad has been driving f150s for all his life, solid trucks. His last two have been raptors, definitely jelly and agree with the size factor but feature/performance wise full size is hard to beat. Enjoy!

Read my post about how my dealer screwed up and ordered a TRD Pro with an auto when I wanted a manual.

Long story short I bought a TRD Sport and did a Pro Grill added leather and my own Fox lift wheels and tires and came out cheaper with ...I don’t want to say better , but , bigger and better stance.

    I also was cheaper by a $3000!
