General consensus is to avoid them.

Does your SSO interfere w/your sensor on the grill for CC?

    Thanks,

So, avoid because the car wash may rip it/damage it?? Or avoid it because water into engine?

    So just hand wash?

I don't own one, so I'm only speculating. But damage to the snorkel. Kind of like how they have those signs that say they aren't responsible for antennas and other aftermarket modifications.

So hand wash or go through a coin operated power wash.

No issues with CC. I don't have TSS but from the position on the 2019 grills it doesnt look like it will interfere with TSS either.

Good question, I assume it would be ok because you can drive in bad rain storms and other vehicles like the 70 series have working scoops to the instake so idk.

Personally, between the snorkel, ditch lights and radio antenna I just pressure wash it myself now.

Are you running an integrated winch- like a Zeon? If so, any bracket/brace mods? I have a ComeUp on my Jeep that I want to keep- if it'll fit. My truck comes in next week.

    Thanks

I run a warn XD9000i. Only mod I needed to make was to cut off a support bracket for the lower grill. There is a write up somewhere I think from @Kennedyusmc about it

    EDIT: Found it https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2017-pro-plus-sso-bumper.466399/

Speaking of design. I was pleasantly surprised how much room there is inside the fender wheel well.

I have no idea why they didn’t run there snorkel on the inside of the fender all the way down to the windshield. It would be so much less intrusive and easier to install.

I have gone through my carwash 5 times since 12/26/18 so far. I was going to ask them, but I was already in line the first time and I was like if this snorkel can't handle a carwash.... Anywho, the employee yelled to another employee "he's got a snorkel!" lol. Acted like I wasn't the first guy in Texas to go through a carwash with a snorkel. It's been fine. I don't even worry about it anymore.

This guy used a TJM 4Runner snorkel. Required a little more cutting inside the fender, but came out nice.

I ordered a Dobinson’s snorkel from Rogue Offroad about a week ago. Got a call yesterday saying it was at port and would ship directly to me soon.

Hmmm. I dunno. You go first and let me know if your fender looks like Swiss cheese when it’s done.

Hahaha, it will be a while for me. I’m only one week into a 6 week recovery after having my Tibia knuckle screwed back together. So looks like you’re up first! That said I’m already getting anxiety thinking about the cutting.

That sucks. Hope you heal up quick.

I’m not worried about chopping on the truck. It’s seen it fair share or torches, grinders, and welding machines. I did a 63 swap when it was 9 months old.
I’m just patiently waiting with my saw. :sawzall:
