I worked with a guy that was a "bike" guy and I dont know how we got on the conversation but he said he would drive up on me and sling a chain through my window...on his bike!...I said you are on a bike I'll knock you into a ditch! or slam on my brakes! LOL he just looked at me like he couldnt comprehend I would win in that situation.

Sorry you feel I'm picking on you by explaining the facts to you while using the same language you did. The fact remains that when backing out of a parking space or changing lanes it is YOUR responsibility to ensure it is safe to do so. If you back out of a space or change lanes and hit someone or cause them to hit you, then more than likely you will be getting the ticket and you or your insurance will be picking up the tab for repairs.

You're right, I wasn't there but automobiles don't just "appear out of nowhere" like they just teleported in from outer space or turned off their cloaking device. Maybe you should consider trying to be more observant in the future.

At least the kid had the attention and reactions to stop.
Or the people that use a turn signal as intel to speed up and get there first, not even realizing that they're doing so in your blind spot. Most accidents can be prevented but both party's have to make the effort. Lot's of people don't drive defensively or consider what the other drivers around them can see or anticipate. Free-for-all clusterfucking maniacs.

Actually it was my boss who hit somebody while backing out. A woman in a Hyundai pulled behind his Dodge truck and he clobbered her fender. It was his first at-fault accident in like 30 years so his rates didn't go
    up.

It was just the stupid grin on his face. My truck was three years old at the time and had less than 30K on it. He was driving a beater 15-year old Escort. Luckily, I have coverage for underinsured and uninsured motorists...

Some of the people who've almost hit me over the years look like they don't have adequate insurance just based on what they were driving.

This is more of an amusement than a pet peeve. Today, I was on Route 611 (residents of the Philly area will know what road this is) driving to work and the line of cars in front of me stopped rather abruptly for a light that was turning red. I really had to slam on the brakes myself, but I came to a stop with a good two or three feet between my truck and the silver Jeep Compass in front of me. There was a woman in a green 1999-2002ish Honda Accord behind me, and I was convinced she was about to rear-end me. I braced for impact, and she braked so hard that the ass end of her car went up in the air, but she realized she didn't have enough space and turned left at the last possible moment. She probably would have ended up with her front end under my truck if she hadn't turned when she did.

Best part? I caught the whole thing on my dashcam!

Jaywalkers don't bother me that much because I typically see them from quite a distance away. Also, I jaywalk all the time!

What really annoys me is when I have a green light, and I'm at a crosswalk that has a red light/hand signal, and somebody decides to mosey across the street like there's nobody glaring at them from inside a vehicle as they take their sweet time!

Again, I have no problems with jaywalkers who time it properly so nobody has to slam on their brakes or come to a complete stop. I've been at intersections where the cars had a green light and the crosswalk had a red, but there were no cars coming, so I just crossed the street. Police around here are pretty cool and just don't care!

Late mergers. Especially in construction zones. Rushing up in the empty or near empty ending lane.

Com'on!!! you saw all 5 signs, flashing light, and orange barrels saying the lane was ending same as I did!! Now your self importance, rush, and lack of planning somehow are supposed to stimulate me to see you should be allowed to merge in front of me? Lack of planning on your part does NOT constitute and emergency on my part! It is Your job to merge, not MY job to yield.

    Just sayin'

You're wrong and you should feel bad. Use the entirety of both lanes.

One thing I've noticed since putting the bed rack and RTT on my truck is...People HATE driving behind someone when they:

A.) Can't see the person that's driving in front of them through their window

    and/or

B.) Can't see past or through the vehicle that's in front of them.

Even if I'm going with the flow of traffic (I usually drive on the faster side) people coming up behind me will still insist on getting in front of me ever since the rack/RTT. Never had that experience in all my years driving before.

Kind of makes sense, most of us when coming up on a big van or truck will change lanes to get past it even if they aren't going slow. Just never really bothered to wonder why until I became that guy lol.

Yep, I have finally started seeing signs that say use both lanes to merge point.

    Should be more prevalent.

For the second time in the last two weeks, I came across someone dead stopped in the middle of the freeway. First time it was a Challenger, today it was an old van, with some guy on the phone in it. With 75 - 80 mph traffic flying by, this is the most dangerous thing I've seen in a while.

No, I live in SOCA. Seen this on one of the busiest freeways in the country, really have the your eyes open and be ready for anything, especially with being so close to the border.

Seen this a few times, usually its a car that broke down and the people panic and instead of squeezing themselves off the road to the shoulder they simply stop in the middle of the freeway. At that point the safest thing is to stay buckled and hopefully no one rear ends you.

One time stopped to check on a young lady stopped in the far right lane. She was on the phone with a family member. My first reaction was why she hadn't called for a tow yet. Just pay for a tow driver to quickly come get you and get you off the freeway instead of calling your boyfriend or brother that's at work and won't show up for another two hours.

    Just my opinion

There is every type of vehicle that can move under it's own power that comes across, safety is WAY down on the list, unlicensed drivers, underaged drivers, under the influence, uninsured, you name it. Heck, even the gas they burn is toxic.
