Give it a little time. You'll quickly discover that pointing out that a little revhang isn't the end of the world or that it's okay is a sin around these parts... Lol ask me how I know. I gave up on the revhang battle long ago. Now if it's removed, then cool. If it's not, meh.

It's the desire to have a 1:1 feel and response of a throttle by wire. The want for the engine to react to where your foot is on the pedal.

agreed!! even if Mat cant remove it ,adjusting it lower to like 1800-2000rpm will do wonders.

if you don't want to shock load the drive train, don't drop the clutch or go full send

the truck does more getting in its own way than it ever has helped...

I've done it, but it is hardly what we are working toward here.

On other stuff, I removed cutoff switches and other safety circuits. Only a couple times has it been to my own detriment. Personal responsibility, yo!

    Mostly stuff I built.
Working nights here. Just woke up and caught up on the discussion today. My thoughts.

1)The more engine braking the better

    2) improve DFCO so that when it resumes it acts more like a carbureted engine. Closed throttle and just enough fuel to prevent stalling.

3)do something with the rev hang so that it is not so detrimental to the feel of driving. Maybe reduced it to 25%-+ of what it is.

    4) Run the intake runners at full length all the time. The 3500 kick needs to go.

@OVTune Thanks for all your work on this platform. Your dedication is not going unnoticed.

computers and injectors are is supposed to be better than carbs, I get it. But when I put the clutch in and let off the gas to approach a stop sign, the engine shouldn't maintain revs.

And anybody can have their cake and eat it too. The trick is to eat it and then still have it.

There is really no reason for rev hang other than emissions. The 1:1 throttle was a thing way after carburetors in fuel injected vehicles. I have driven some early drive by wire manual vehicles where the throttle does in fact feel "normal".

All rev hang does for me is roast clutch when trying to shift quicker., and also make me look like a noob. There are certain situation where you must "wait" for the revs to artificially fall in order to shift smoothly.
Its not like we have 80 lbs flywheels here. The engine revs beautifully witj clutch depress in neutral. Thats the true nature of the 3.5

I very much doubt shock loading would be an issue on this truck with the gutless 3.5. Vehicles went decades without any attenuation of throttle inputs. If the rest of the drivetrain cant handle some throttle stabs in higher gears, then the drivetrain is junk.
4 low I understand, you can decrease the throttle sensitivity and it can help. But again, decades went by without that shit and things were just fine.

    Stock
Speaking of emissions. With OVTune do you have to return to stock to pass an emissions test ? The tune I have on my F150 won’t pass emissions test. I have to return to stock for it to pass.

I haven’t went back thru over 9k posts to see if it was posted. Lol

With the initial version of the tune Mat indicated that it would pass emissions and would not be detectable by the dealer. I have not seen anything posted regarding the new revision and emissions.

Lots of EFI vehicles, let's say pre-2000ish never had rev hang and had EFI. I've driven many of them...
At the end of the day, I guess you could say it's a preference thing, so if you like it, cool? Go ahead and keep it?
I drove medium duty trucks for a while and I can tell ya this, rev hang would have been stupidly problematic driving a medium duty diesel with a 6 speed manual around.
