Technically I should have found this earlier. Jaime tagged me in it in December.

You have a 2009 and $6000 equity? What's the pay off?

    $27,500 for a 2015...

What' is your monthly payment on the 2009? What would it be on the 2015?

    Just going off averages here...

The 2009 is worth at BARE min $12,000-$15,000. You have $6000 equity. So you have a pretty hefty car note. Trade it in, Now you have a higher car note?
Again, just my two cents worth, you couldn't buy the 2009 out right, why increase the monthly payment?

If it's a warranty issue, Toyota warranties suck! So you have a few extra Years of warranty on the 2015. Guess what, most likely, it ain't gonna break in that time period. You just wasted a whole Lotta money.

If it's an upgrade issue, well... To upgrade a 2009 to a 2015, I can tell you from experience, it cost a whole lot less to just swap the front cap and change the interior. You have a nice truck.

    My theory is this...

    I don't owe anybody anything!

If I want like the new body style, or a feature, etc... When I have the money I mod the truck, it's Now exactly the same as if I bought the new truck. I still owe no one anything. Now, simply because I want the new model, if I go sign a paper saying that no matter what, for 3-5 years, I have to pay xxx hundred dollars every month... What happens if we have a family emergency, money gets short, etc...

    Well, guess just SOL :)
