I run the risk of having someone tell me I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about for one reason or another, but I don't actually think you'll notice another 35 pounds of tires unless you're already determined to convince yourself you noticed it.

I've run KM2s, Extreme Countries, and now STT Pros besides the stock wranglers, and so have been all over the weight spectrum, and I really didn't notice any significant difference in acceleration or stopping distance. You aren't going to add 30 pounds to a truck and drop the 0-60 by a second or anything crazy like that. If you're drag racing the truck then you'll notice it because it will be right in front of you on the slip. Day to day, meh. Truck still gets around just fine. Of course, I also think that the 4.30s aren't nearly as miserable as I was promised they'd be with 35s. So maybe folks are just way more sensitive to this stuff than I am.

I may overly preach...I’ve run ST MAXX and just think their weight detracts from our trucks.

Build your truck the way you want and take all suggestions with a grain of salt.

I mean, its not just 40 lbs of weight at all...its multiplied being unsprung/rotational.... but I digress. Typically it still isnt the weight people feel, but usually the increased diameter tire just being slower to accelerate compared to before.....I guess its all relative. Not long ago I put on stock steel wheels with stock sized tires to try out. They felt substantially heavier than my 295s on alloys. Like annoyingly heavy. I figure it was having a lot more weight in the center of the assembly instead on just the outside/tire. Really makes me want to consider some lighter-weight alloys even.

You daily those, though? They look like ice skates would be better suited for wet pavement, about like my km2s

Notice a major difference between the 245 LT Grabbers and the 255 LT km2s. Hell, noticed the difference between the poopy stock Bridgestones to the Grabbers

Yep. They’ve been surprisingly gripping on both dry, wet and snow.

If I decide they feel too heavy, it gives me an excuse to replace the stock wheels. :D

    That's good news then!
What's the compound? Might be the difference then

I just looked at them. Pretty standard compounds in them, depending on load ratings. Not available in 255 though :pout:

    But 285s are CHEAP! :spending:

I have 16" wheels. Highly considering finding a set of cheap 17s, maybe even off a Chevy since they match bolt pattern.

Whether or not weight is sprung doesn't have any bearing on your acceleration or deceleration, it affects handling. Springs don't magically make weight weigh less, otherwise we'd all still wear those moon shoes from the 90s. Basic linear physics will dictate that you need some Force to move some mass at a certain rate of acceleration (f = ma). Spring constant is nowhere to be found in that equation, for a reason.

Yeah, I wasn't going to dig into that worm hole. I've seen these discussions on here on other threads.

Only if you have non-hubcentric spacers to use with them. Chebbys are like ~70mm centerbore. Toyotas are over 100.

I’ve got some 6 spoke FJ Cruiser wheels sitting around. Typical Toyota wheel corrosion. $150. I’ve been to lazy to take pictures to post anywhere.
