you need an add a fuse......a 15a fuse....put the 15 amp fuse into the add a fuse.......look inside the fuse box cover and find the "INJ 10a fuse" and take it out and put in the add a fuse next to the 15a fuse......then put the add-a fuse into the INJ fuse socket.......then ground it......

also note: the DRL lights are turned on when you release the parking brake

in this setup, the raptor light will come on when the engine is running and go off when turned off......if you place the light switch in the "AUTO" position, everything is automatic.......runnin4tacos.com has a video showing this process......Tuan also shows you how to get the power line into the fuse box so you have a perfect set up.....

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlo1MJgI3vg&t=334s for installation

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kK5IBYQhmlg&t=30s for fuse box install

good luck....this is a very simple process....you can do it......

    good luck

Yes sorry, I meant to say EFI circuit no DRL. I wanted my lights to run anytime the truck was running. The EFI circuit comes on and off with the switch but when the truck performs the random self test after being shut off the lights will come on during that short time also. lol. Wasn't a big deal to me since the LED's require very little power. I did have random people occasionally tell me I left my lights on lol.

When you pull the EFI fuse out you will plug the add a circuit into that slot. Then put that original EFI fuse in the original slot on the add a circuit and put the new 3A fuse in the new slot.

I wished I still had that truck, I would take a picture and post it but I sold it about 10 months ago.

This is the end result for me after my day long project. I did wire to the EFI circuit and can confirm the lights do stay on for about 10 seconds after truck shuts off. I wanted to wire to a switch but that was going to be a bit more complicated.

Nice! looks good. Yeah be prepared for people to come in and tell you that you left your lights on. lol. They'll randomly come on as the truck performs the self test. Didn't bother me though lol

Weird thing also happened with it being wired to this source. After the truck was shut off for a couple hours, I went back in the garage, and only the grill lights were on. Do you know or anyone know if this is normal. I didn’t have the Doors locked. Maybe it performs tests periodically on this specific system??

Has anybody gotten these to be wired to switch? If so how.

I was wondering the same thing. I originally wanted them wired to a switch inside but it seemed like a lot more work. (it probably isn't). I have a leftover switch from my Caliraised light bar, so if anyone figures out how to do this I would also be happy to know.

Yep, its normal. I had the same thing happen to me haha. Went out into the garage one night after the truck was sitting for several hours and only the grill lights were on. The truck periodically performs a self pressure test on the fuel system and that powers the EFI circuit which will make the grill lights come on. If you listen you would be able to hear a pump running under the truck. It only lasts for like 5 minutes or so. No biggie. The LED's don't pull enough power to make a difference.

Lol good to know. I thought I was going crazy for a second. Do you know how often this happens with the self test? I doubt 4 tiny LED’s will affect battery life much if the truck is sitting stagnant for a week or two at a time while I’m away for work...

Not entirely sure how often. I know it does it after being shut off for x amount of hours but not sure if it does it more than once.

I made my own with some bullet lights from supbrightled.com. super easy to wire up when you make your own little harness and hide it in the grill like I did. Then hook it to an add-a-fuse. I did have to buy and L shaped aluminum and cut it to size to drill small holes for the lights. Spray painted those black. I might have some pics laying around if anyone wants more detailed instructions.

Definitely appreciate the compliment. Running icon stage 4 with the 17in TRD Pro (4Runner wheels) and Cooper AT3 XLT 285/70/17. My buddy makes fun of me because I copied his exact setup because I saw his truck and was like “yep, that’s exactly the proportion I’ve been looking for” haha.

if this bothers you, you can attach the add a fuse to the INJ fuse above the EFI fuse........same operating function but it won’t cone on when the truck self tests itself

I’ve tried asking this in few forums so far and nobody as an answer. Is there a way to have these be manual turned on by a switch. If so how?

Way easier. Just tap the power wire you want directly. It will function same as your source. Thats how my halos are powered. Forget add a fuse and running to your fusebox

Just tap directly to power wire and the headlight switch is your switch. I think tapping the side marker light will allow you to turn in on with 2 clicks of the headlight handle to turn it on. Or you could tap fog and they come on when fog lights on. Heck you could tap the hi beam so it comes on with highbeams. Piggyback it off any source of power you want. These leds dont draw much
