Hey guys, I've searched and came up empty handed. I'm want to get the EBC slotted rotors and greenstuff pads for my 04 Tacoma PreRunner 2WD 3.4L. Anyone has this set up on their 04 2WD? The application is for a 4WD, V6. If i were to buy it for the 4WD, will it work?

i prefer centric premium rotors and the ebc yellow stuff pads. ..that's the best combo i've come up with for my tacoma and my tj w/33's. the green pads are good. ..but the yellows are tits and beer.

there should be an application for your truck ....probably the same for the prerunner and 4x4.

I have that set up on my '03 4WD. The brakes are the same as on a PreRunner. They worked well for me, but the rotors have developed a pulse. EBC recommends having them turned while on the truck to get rid of the wobble, but it is getting tough to find that type of lathe (at least around here). I am going with another brand or the Tundra big brake upgrade this time around.

i got maybe 3 weeks out of my stock rotors and pads before i got massive vibes. ...they just don't stand up to heavy braking.

i've used a lot of different setups and you just can't beat centric premiums and ebc yellows. ..the difference in stopping power between the stock pads and the ebc yellowstuff pads is quite dramatic. i've got a little over a year on my setup and it's still smooth as silk. ..no vibes.

My stock brakes always felt weak, the EBC's feel much better and produce less brake dust.

I still have my stock brake pads in and almost to 100,000 miles. I would stick with OME ones. I'm suprised at how long they last. .02

I've had problems with the OEM rotors and pads, and took it to Toyota so many times. I'm running on Autozone crap right now, I'm looking for something a little better quality. I'm running EBC Slotted rotors and greenstuff on my Acura TL and I love it. I'm planning to order my rotors from autoanything .com. So, if i get the 4WD rotors, it will fit on my 2WD even though they don't have an application for my year?.

Maybe Im thick in the Head? But what kind of problems have you had with the OEM setup? Mine have been better than flawless for 133k as stated I replaced pads and rotors at around 75k miles probably could have stretched that. OEM rotors are rated the best over competitors, and the pads last along time, offer great stopping, with no dust:confused:. I think your losing stopping power from your brakes by having oversized heavier tires and added weight to the truck which will lessen the brakes ability to stop the truck, its not the brakes its the added weight of aftermarket add ons that are caused the lack of stopping power.

The Taco Runner is all stock besides a K&N air filter...but that doesn't count. lol Gone through 2 sets of OEM rotors and pads and both times it has been warpped (badluck?) Toyota also checked the brake system and found nothing wrong. So decided to go with the Duralast brand and its been turned once already 7,000 miles ago and starting to feeling pulsation. So, I want to go with something better and thats where EBC comes along.

Well, Gadget is a good reference for certain. I am certainly glad that you have had such good results with the OEM parts. I found the OEMs to be lacking in power, but they did last much longer than the EBC setup that I have now. I am going to a standard type rotor and Hawk pads this time. The EBCs did produce less dust than my original pads and stopped better (seat of the pants observation) as far as I have noticed.

Yes he used Powerslots with TRD Pads on his 4Runner which caused tremendous amount of Dust but provided better stopping but the Powerslots eventually warped quickly they were turned and warped again quickly, hes returned to OEM Rotors due to the fact that they cost less and if they warp out they can be replaced at a better cost at eqaul performance. Seems like premature warping has to do with driving style or other factors other than OEM setup? I would think,Ive used TRD pads on other trucks Ive owned they do stop better I guess but they tear up the Rotors and Dust like hell,I just like the OEMs I guess they do everything right for me.
