They must have just started making that size. IIRC they didn't make the 4s above 265... just checked cooper site and there it is.

I didn't remember seeing it originally either. Really crossing my fingers they make a 275/70/17, to me that is the perfect size/look.

TRD Baja Kit with JBA UCA's 1/2 inch spacer on top, Medium Dakars with BAMF hangars and super bumps all around. 285/75/16 Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT's on graphite TRD faux beadlock wheels. Pro skid powder coated black with Pelfreybilt aluminum mid skid and aluminum gas tank skid.
I have JBA UCA's and spidertrax 1.25 wheel spacers so there is plenty of room.

Hello, I just had AT3/4s put on my stock TRD OR wheels at the dealer. They are 265/70/16. They set the PSI at 45. Seems very high to me. The (factory) Goodyears they took off were around 32.

What's a good PSI for mostly highway driving?

    Thanks,

    Steve

i have 30 front and 28.5 rear but i also run E's in the stock size, so they are a very hard tire and can tolerate it. actually this tire size (265/65-17) needs low pressure or the contact patch is obviously compromised. even 265/70's are much easier with that.

30 TO 34 PSI should be good. You could look at the door placard to see what Toyota recommends but 30 to 34 should work well (I am thinking the tire shop looked at the tire and saw 44 PSI max and used that. The tire can handle up to 44 psi in on vehicle service but if the tire is the OE size a very good starting point is the vehicle placard inflation... and from there you can do the chalk line thing).

i have used the same 265/65-17 E range carcass on two sets of STMaxx and really like them. and i wanted better wet weather performance in case my wife drives it, that's why these tires this go-round.

next set I'm probably going back to the STMaxx but definitely staying on these Cooper internals and size.

Same. Went from k02 to these because of the safer tire for street and my wife is using the taco as the kid hauler right now. Now I wanna see how they do on mild desert trails

I placed 1 tire Cooper AT3 XLT on the weigh scale it is actually 54lbs only... that is very light for 285/75r16... my wheels are 19lbs each so total of 73lbs

That’s the size BFG KO2 I have on my truck, it’s a great size just wish they made something lighter than an E rated.

I would love to hear an update about ride, MPG’s, and wet weather traction when you get a chance. My BFG’s ride a bit stiff, break traction in the rain, and on highway driving 18’ish MPG.

That was a big reason I went with them too. Duratracs are 55lbs in the same size but about $30-$50 more per tire. I had 2 sets of those on my Jeep in 33x12.5x15 and they were a great tire. I've got about 5000 miles on these and I like these better. I do a lot of highway driving and these are quiet and track straight. Been thru 4 good snow storms now with zero issue's. Haven't been wheeling with them yet but I think they will do good for me. I'm not crazy rock crawling or mud bogging though.
