I've thought really hard about putting resque badges on the sides and red and blue lights but I don't have money for sorta shenaigans yet.

That would be cool to see but be careful about putting red & blue lights on it. That is illegal in many areas and can get you in a lot of trouble.

I haven't looked into it yet but I know it's illegal on road but it may be cool off road. I mean I have red Rock lights already.

In Chicago the police will stop you and try to say it is illegal to have blue lights on any motor vehicle... on or off road. A friend of mine got stopped pulling his side-by-side on a trailer because it had blue lights... but that is Chicago.

It's a bit different here in Idaho . Like I still drive this totally not street legal truck to the grocery store with no flack. Mostly cause its still easier to park than my diesel.

I don;t know why people don't like them? I can't even imagine how bad the inside of my bed would look after all these years with out it. Always felt the level of dent/scratch protection was way better then any kind of spray in bed liner.

They also trap water between the liner and bed which leads to rust etc much quicker than normal. To make matters worse, most people never remove them and they are not aware of the rust cancer until it's too late. Not sure where you are located, but it is definitely an issue in wet climates.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
stuff gets under the cover like leaves and the plastic over the years rubs the paint away.. compound that with water getting in.. you have the perfect mix for rot

Yeah, the paint had been rubbed where the liner embosses (dips/curves) didn't exactly line up. Over the years temp related expansion/contraction, plus a little movement and contaminants as you suggest, and you've got bare metal just waiting for a drink!.

    I have mods
I cut off the bent up front skid plate mount.

Working on putting a 2"x4" tube in it's place.

Need a better way to cut tube like this at an angle. Chop saw was useless for it and the sawzall was a pain in the ass and didn't cut straight. But I got it cut and welded the caps on. Need to clean up the welds and grind off the excess material still since I didn't shape them to fit before hand. Then put it in place so I can mark where to drill the bolt hols for the skid plate and install nutserts. Then I can weld it in place, paint and reinstall the front skid plate bolts.

This is going to make things interesting for mounting the new bumper on the passenger side.

No idea how it happened, was like that when I bought the truck.
