Its been about 10 years but I used to work there, FedEx Office, and it was part of the FedEx office corporate policy to repack customers boxes. You're right it was just a way to make extra money but they would try to pass it off as a way to ensure items wouldn't be damaged in the process of shipping. I kind of understand as I had to pack A LOT of boxes and some of the crap people would bring in would barely make it on to the truck without falling apart.

Anyway, it's a couple extra bucks and saves me a lot of time but totally worth it. Just create a shipping account and they will pick up the package from your house or office you can leave directions like "package in the back yard" if you don't feel comfortable leaving it out front. I've had zero problems that way and the drives will pick almost anything up just an option.

    I have too many Toyotas...
Everything... and a bag of Cheetos.
I've had that same issue with them on multiple occasions. The last few times I went in there, if my packaging had a dented corner or a scratch in the cardboard they told me they could not guarantee the package against damage because my packaging was not up to snuff. I re-use boxes when I ship parts, so those kind of things are the norm. Then they would try to sell me on re-packing my item in their packaging for a prohibitive cost.

Each time I said okay, walked out, drove straight to UPS or USPS and shipped my parts with no hassle, no questions asked.

Good to hear I'm not the only one they're doing this with. I usually avoid FedEx completely, but some companies that send pre-paid labels are contracted with them. It makes it a total PITA since we don't even have one in Los Lunas. Then I drive all the way up to ABQ just to be told they can't send it out because of the box when it's the same box that was originally sent to me. (end rant)

Thanks for that recommendation, Nick! I just set up an appt for Monday afternoon with them. Just talking with them over the phone, they seem like really cool people to work with.

He had said there was another guy that Nick recommended also named Nick that was going in Tuesday. That's funny. He sounded pretty stoked to work on two Tacomas back to back days.

Cool. I just installed some SPC's recently so I'm hoping for something similar. Are you requesting specific specs for tow and camber as well or just having them do what they feel it good?

I guess I’m a little naive but what does the castor help achieve??

Awesome man well would be awesome if I could borrow it but you’re out in the east mountains ya?

More caster = straighter down the road, bigger tiers towards front = less rub. I got a harbor freight torque wrench, NE heights, need it this Saturday through!!!

Increased castor pushes the tire forward in the wheel well to decrease rubbing on the back of the fender. It also makes your steering want to stay straight and not wander especially at higher speeds

Alright that makes sense! Well I really just need it for like 5 min haha but I’m in uptown. Also completely forgot about harbor freight but I’m a little meh about some of their tools you’ve had good luck with that?

So another question pushing the wheels foward/back how does that effect the CVS especially with a lift??

I have a number of tools from there, pretty good, can't beat the cost on some things, others are pretty cheap (bad). Like the torque wrench, if u wanna borrow it, let me know, by Wyoming and constitution. Castor doesn't really effect CV angles , primarily lift amount... Like the last shop I took my truck to, cranked my coilovers to a 4 inch lift... My CVS were none too happy about that.
