    Oh you have no idea... ive heard the horror stories from some of our LE teams...

    I am currently doing that right now. haha. thats how i was in Jamaica like 2 wks ago.

    biggest wave i have seen was in the 40s. Ive sailed for 5 years in the Pacific, with a total of over 2 years in the bering sea with the deadliest catch crews (i sat and counted all my patrols up there and it came out to like 25 or 26 months total in area) Worst one was a 30 something rogue wave, hit us on the side one night. put us at like a 30 degree angle sideways. that was rough.

    Bearing sea is tough. Our port is on the Chuchi sea, we get about 110 day window when it’s not froze an we can get ships an barges in.

    i havent served on the ice breakers, but we did once go up to the ice field in the bering sea. that was awesome. floating past ice chunks the size of school buses like 30 feet away and one wrong move could let it rip open the ship. weird for some but i enjoyed it. Best deployment was 2015 and 2016 summers, i went to Yokosuka Japan both. I love it over there. Only north Pacific port i loved besides homeport. haha.

    Gotcha. Still. I got me a free.99 old coleman cooler that fits inside my truck box with the camp chairs perfectly. Still have room in there for extra oil, antifreeze and a couple cases of soda. Worked well for our TX trip. I've thought about the EAF points from the big boy coolers but the price tags always steer away.
