Your right, There’s nothing special about his Tacoma, they could have used a wheel lift or standard flatbed to tow this truck. Towed for 25 years, AAA dispatches the garage that takes care of the service area assigned to them. This driver was just not paying attention to where he put the hooks.

Roadside assistance is a loss leader for AAA, to the tune of tens of millions of dollars per club, per year. Just like the liquor store loses money selling those $1 lotto scratchers, their only hope is cross selling you other goods & services.

Nationwide. 1$ a month for 100 mile tow. After 100 miles I have to pay for the rest out of pocket when we get the truck home or where ever I’m going. Take the receipt to nationwide. And they reimburse me for it. Used it 1000000 times

Not to offend any tow truck drivers, but the two I dealt with last week had IQs in the single digits. I helped load the truck, followed them to my house/the dealer, helped them unstrap it, and guided it off. Not surprised by this in the least bit.

I used to hate going to T8( accident) calls and the members insisting that they want to use their membership card on this tow !!

You're typically on scene for an hour or more doing a Roll over recovery for basically free !!!

I'd always tell them it's better to go under insurance especially if the vehicle was or appears totaled . At least I could make more money especially if it was a CHP call

Bingo! That's what I keep saying. Towing insurance on your regular insurance. Save money and call any company you want.

I wasn't posting in reference to crashed out, wadded up, leaking, burning, scrap.....it was in reference to non-functioning, sitting on all 4 of it's own tires, without any parts falling off and no explosion risk situations.....like the one in the story here.
