from one of the reviews on Laquer-stik,

Have a gun and love your receiver's markings but they are kinda hard to see. This is better than what ever crayon or nail polish you were going to use for your engraving. 1st use needs some rubbing to get the paint to start working.

    How to
    1st clear area
Rub over to give it a good layer

I use mr.clean magic easier to clean up the paint along with a paper towel ( both are damp not wet or else paint will spread)

Fill in again as needed if paint was removed
    Repeat until satisfied

I found that the depth of the engraving determines how much paint is removed when I clean.

    Cons
Breaks - my fault as I held it too hard
Paint gets everywhere if your not careful ie hands then elsewhere

I found that leaving the paint over night only makes it harder to clean up

Testors paint with a toothpick and a cotton pad with thinner works great and super easy if you have a steady hand

    This is my newest project
Going to try and get as many Colt parts to make it a legit clone (obvs not the lower cuz prohib up here).
The barrel is a late A1 barrel. Had a weird .750 sleeve over it and a set screw FSB.
The upper is unfortunately a Norinco one, but I’ll replace it with a Colt at some point.

Anyone with a can ever have to wait longer than 14months to get your tax stamp? I’ve been patient and called for the first time last week and I’m still under FBI investigation stage...o_O

Happening to a lot of people. You get stuck in FBI BG check. It should take a few days but some are taking months. Lots of people started writing to their congressman with good results. Many claim they write to them and they can is 'magically' approved. I wrote to mine and it was approved during that time but I think in my case it got pushed through on its own.
Long thread but worth your time to read and write:

I have used the same stuff and method as JimBeam on several guns without issue. I like having the safe and fire backfilled with white and red. I even filled in the Anderson logo on one AR and it turned out nice.

Its not this rifle but basically the same front sight. I need the low profile gasblock for a free float handguard install.

So, I'm sitting in my hotel room and next thing I know I've ordered one of the PSA 10.5 pistol kits. This, of course, has led to several other ancillary purchases...

In reference to my post above, I went with the PSA "Classic" kit with the A2 FSB with the intention of putting together a CQBR Block 1-ish blaster.

    Reference picture:

The kit was $279 and I ordered the carry handle already. Here is where I need some of you guys to talk me down. For the drop in rail, I have found an authentic KAC RIS. For $350.

I've also found a KAC RAS ($250), and am also considering either a DD Omega ($200) or the MI drop in Quad ($125).

Have I gone completely off the deep end when I am considering a rail that costs more than the kit + carry handle + stripped lower?

Lol. I just don't know if it would be considered sacrilege to hang a KAC rail on a PSA gun! Granted, aside from my first couple ARs (Colt Sporter and a Bushmaster XM15, both Pre Ban) all have been Frankenbuilds with a mixture of parts from Spikes, DD, BCM, Noveske, etc.

It was called a LaRue Po'Boy. It's a surplus Hendsoldt 2.5x magnifier that was originally made to be used with the German Panzerfaust anti-tank weapon. They had a range finding reticle based on the Russian T72. LaRue (and others) would open them up, remove the reticle, and repurge them with nitrogen. They made one-off spacers so the optic would fit the 30mm optic mounts.

The Hensoldts flooded eBay back in 2008 or 2009. I picked a bunch up when they were around $20, then sold most of mine when they were drying up and going for around $100.

I seriously considered going .300, but I just started getting caught up on 5.56. I don't need another caliber...

Oh, and you guys did a horrible job of talking me off the ledge. I compromised and ordered a NIB KAC M4 RAS kit. Bastards.
