I have a 09 Tacoma TRD sport and want 33s or slightly smaller, I don’t know how big of a lift to get without trimming. Thanks

If you go, 255 no trimming at all. That's what I'm running

To properly fit *most* any tire other than stock, you will need to trim/cut. The reason being is lift doesn't help you clear larger tires other than at ride height on a smooth surface. As soon as you hit bumps, take turns or both, you're going to rub and the way to remedy that is to cut shit out of the way.

A full OME lift and 275/70r17 should clear no problem without cutting or trimming

31.5" if you wanna split hairs. And if you wanna go deeper each manufacturer has a slightly different diameter.

Yeah their 34x10.5" tire is really only like 33.2" in diameter or something stupid like that when people took a tape measure to them.

if you never go off road you might get lucky and never rub except maybe a little plastic rubrub at full lock. rim dimensions play a big role in that too

anything larger than a 265/75R16 and you will need to cut if you actually go places other than the mall. You might get lucky if you have a good alignment guy with 255/85R16's and not have to do a cab mount chop. 285/75R16's plan on cab mount chop, inner fender removal / massive trimming, and possible pinch weld flattening.

Those that say they fet a 285/75R16 without the above never go more than straight over a speed bump.

    Yes 265/75 is a “32” although specs say “31.8”.

    I believe the factory 265/70 is a “31”

    Guys.... stop the guessing.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=265-75r16-265-70r16

    265/75R16 = 31.65in

    265/70R16 = 30.61in

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=285-75r16-255-85r16

    285/75R16 = 32.83in

    255/85R16 = 33.07in

Now there are some slight variances between manufactures, but they will list that on their websites.... +- .2in or so in diameter.

theres quite a few tires that are 32 on the dot in a 265/75/16, some coopers are even over 32
