3rd Gen Quicksand thread

A couple of photos of my seventh Toyota PU.
Nicest one yet. They've come a long way and they've gotten a lot more expensive
Quicksand is a perfect color for living in the Mohave desert

Can you narrow down the location? Mojave desert is a bit large.

 

I left Commifornia for a reason(s) and it would take an awful lot to get me back there.

It’s a pretty nice mount if you want to save space for the rails!

   So you just plasti-dipped over the original paint or did you do some sanding?
   I got a private message about this already, so I will just cut and paste my reply to that here (edited for clarity):
   
   I took the fender flairs off with a 10 metric socket. The tabs at the front of the two front flares are a PITA. Then I put the fender flares on a tarp in my garage. Next I cleaned them, first with a de-greaser and then with rubbing alcohol. Then I sprayed coat after coat of black plasti dip on them. I used about 3 full cans over the course of a day. Then I let them cure over night. I put them back on with 3M tape, plus all the original parts.
   
   I got some questions on specific parts, so I am editing to add examples.
   
   Normal black dip, no glossifier, just many many layers

   I used something very like this to save my fingertip as there is a lot of spraying. It is not necessary, but it is nice

Wow! My twin! Minus the wheels and tires... I haven’t seen another quicksand ACLB with the shell and full prinsu set up!

 

Just got a good deal on a snugTop/FRO canopy rack! I need to wire it up and seal it all up still.

 

Nice! Wheels and tires are on my list. Gonna wear out the factory set, then upgrade. Still trying to decide between The sema pros like you have and scs f5s.

 

Yeah I decided to stick with the Toyota wheel. They just look so dang good. SCS makes some fine looking wheels too. Glad I don't have to make that decision anymore!

 

I like those wheels man! Who makes them? The wifes '17 quicksand is about ready for all that jazz haha
