I picked up a new Tacoma yesterday and am excited to own a Toyota truck finally. I have always liked them from the good old days of the solid axle 70's - 80's with massive lift, axle trusses and 44's, the Back to the Future model, up through today but I just like Subaru more. I have an 82 Brat that never sees anything but perfect weather and my Baja is getting a bit ridiculous. In fact the other day it broke a piston ring land (just over 500Whp) so its time for a billet block, forged rods, and other crazy stuff. With the Baja being down for months and and Subaru not having a truck in production I decided to finally pick up a Toyota as the more practical winter and haul crap truck.

I plan to do a lift and tires/gears but nothing too drastic past that, I want it to retain that Toyota reliability for bad weather commuting and general use. For now I am making a study of what the options and proven combos are, the aftermarket support is awesome so it is a pretty easy task compared to the Subaru world. So far the first 200 miles have been a pleasure!

A pic of it and its Subaru roomates, I have a few other brands kicking around too but no other trucks.

Welcome. I always wanted a brat. Actually it’s better if somebody else owns one so I can chill in the back seat!

Spotted it from 3/4 of one taillight? Wow! Yeah its a 355F1. The other two cars are even less practical for bad weather so the Tacoma is perfect for the bad weather vehicle and has already filled that role in the first two days of ownership.
