@EddyRRT SOS Offroad had them in stock when I bought mine. Shipped super fast and has kick out. Doubles as a step and door protection, too.

Lots of good info! thanks, I was sure this had been well discussed and there it is. Some home work for me now. In specific, the ones I'm leaning towards have to have a significant rear kick out, the ones from relentless with that feature is what I'm kinda going for.

So is mobtown completely off the table to you because they didn’t answer the phone?

I’m sorry we haven’t answered the phone. Like others said, it’s just me and two others now. Was just me and another but I hired another guy trying my hardest to get the lead times back down. It’s either answer phones or build orders and I simply can’t do both. Most email me or tag me on here and I reply when I’m out of the shop for the night. Any questions I can answer?

Edit: Also, who’d you email? I have zero unread/nonreplied emails.

I waited a good while for mine, but @Mobtown Offroad 's bolt-ons have worked very well for my needs.

CBI or BAMF, Cali Raised are probably your fastest turn around and solid quality with options.

I had e-mailed Joe on 01/17, Met him at the Expo East last year. He offered a call back and never got one. I'd like to talk to someone before placing an order, that is just how I'm wired.

Well this is Joe. Sorry I never called back, it’s not intentional. Probably not ideal business practice in the eyes of most consumers but I’ve given up on answering the phone. If I did with each ring, all I’d get done every day is talk on the phone. Only puts me further behind. It’s why we have a few guys on here to help answer questions. PM with your phone number and I can call now. I have some time.

I hate sound like a bandwagon or fan boy, but here my 2 pennies. I had weld on rock sliders on my old 4Runner that was a DD and trail rig. I abused it and dropped on to rocks, drove by Braille, and used the slider for lifting as well as pivoting around rocks. Those sliders took damage very well. That being said I will not be taking my tacoma to such extremes but mobtown sliders are much stronger and better designed than any I have seen before. I have no doubt they will take more abuse than any other. And on top of that I love their texterured powdercoat, perfect balance of grip and not snag.

I'm interested as well in sliders, are bolt on or weld on better?

I would say it depends. For most people bolt on are the best option. No need to weld, removable/resellable. In the case of mobtown Bolt on sliders I think they are stronger connection to frame than any weld on I have seenFWIW.

Totally worth the wait, mine have been awesome. And the patch they throw in is worth the wait too!

I'm going with bolt on. Mainly due to warranty on the truck. I dont know if welding to the frame constitutes any liability for possible issues...?

It all depends on the design of a slider if bolt on is adequate. In the case of mobtown, both are plenty strong and have no deflection. Others I wouldn’t trust so much.

I have a BAMF set on my truck for years. Mob town makes good stuff, sometimes all a Padawan needs is patience...

We have our standard and long bed sliders in good in stock.

Ours are built using 4130, but that is just one aspect of our sliders that makes it the lightest and strongest bolt on sliders on the market. One point that is often overlooked is where does the support for your slider start and stop? Our unique mounting design supports the entirety of the slider, staring where the strength is needed often the first and the most... at your front body mount.

The SDHQ Built Rock Sliders are CAD designed, employ unique mounting solutions tailored specifically for each application. We utilize the best materials for the strongest bolt on design available, our Rock Sliders are built in house for a precise fit and finish, allowing us to utilize mounting solutions that do not require any cutting, welding or drilling for installation. Using this unique mounting design with 3/16” thick gusseted steel mounting plates, the SDHQ Built Rock Sliders support the entirety of the slider. We chose to use 4130 .120” wall chromoly tubing over DOM tubing for strength, rigidity, and hardness.
