I’ll second the Bersa. My wife loves hers. Fits her small hands good, and it’s comfortable for her to shoot. She’s pretty accurate with it to. She purse carries it, but it would be good for just about any carry method.

    Agreed

Thinking of doing something similar with a holster with active retention.

Put a kydex trigger guard on it and tie the trigger guard to one of the mounting bolts. When you draw it’s automatically “un-holstered”.

    Wait, found a couple pieces.
20190129_110701.jpg Extractor was on the bench, spring was on the ground 3ft away and extractor plunger was found 5ft away.
It is getting boxed up to go back to S&W tomorrow.

Yep. I actually called S&W from the range and I had a shipping label about 3 minutes after they answered.
Im going to let them inspect it and reassemble or replace the bolt. I wish their design had a roll pin/pivot point to keep it in place. I might upgrade the extractor when I get it back. The ejector also sucks, putting casings 1"-6" away. So that needs to be tweeked.
Zero at 100 gave a ~5 ft holdover at 250 on steel targets and give a nice little ping on the hit.

Anybody have experience w/ the Savage MKII? Im having issues w/ mine extracting. Got a new set of extractors and spring. Still having issues.

It goes > fire round > lift bolt knob > pull back, casing sitting in chamber > bolt fwd and down > extracts fine.

Have you tried cleaning the chamber? Sounds like the brass is sticking while it’s hot and then when it cools enough it allows itself to be extracted.

make sure the bolt face is clean, sometimes it can build up gunk or even a piece of brass and it wont seat properly, is the only thing I can think of...

Just cleaned out the indents the extractors sit in when the bolt is fwd. And ran a brush through the chamber a few times. Didnt think and used a brass brush back and forth. Should be ok but I'm going to buy a plastic brush and really clean it tomorrow. Doesnt seem too dirty but definately cant hurt at this point!

APEX’d the M&P. And deleted the safety. And added a Streamlight TLR-1

Why not just buy one without a safety in the first place?
