Not today, but last weekend. Then went on a 700 mile shakedown trip.
Installed The AmpPRO kit for Toyotas with the JBL sound system. This taps into the speaker lines going to the JBL amp and converts it to a line level output. The level for the front and rear channels varies with the head unit volume setting, and the sub channel has a separate control that I mounted in the glove box. It's programmable via USB, and the USB cable is also run to the glovebox.

Finished setting the high and low pass filters on the front, rear, and sub channels of the JL Audio RD900/5 amp that now lives behind the passenger rear seat. The amp is connected to the AmpPRO via RCA cables, and to the factory speaker wires going to the door speakers and the sub. The dash tweeter wires were disconnected at the speaker end. I checked the wiring diagram about 4-5 times before cutting the speaker out wires coming out of the factory amp.

I'm pleasantly surpised with the factory sub, now that it's got 500 Watts running through it. Door speakers were replaced with Infinity Reference 6532EX 6-1/2 inch in the rear and
JL Audio C1-690 6x9 coaxs in front.

Eventually the sub and head unit will go, but for now they'll do.

Last, but not least, re-installed the dash trim ring that had been painted to match the exterior color. Seriously Toyota, this should be standard on at least the TRD trims, if not an option on all trim levels. The original generic grayish metallic color just blends into the other generic grays that cover the rest of the dash and console. Color matching it to the truck color really makes it pop.

I used a plasic adhesion promoter and color-matched spray paint from automotivetouchup.com and rustoleum dead flat clear coat from home depot. Sanded with 1500 grit to lightly rough up the trim, 2 coats of adhesion promoter, 3 coats of the base color, and 2 coats of clear.

Yes once the toyota sign is removed/poped off, you just align and drop. Easier than vinyl.

The sensors sense the turning of the axle. If the sensor gets damaged the system thinks 1 wheel is turning faster then the other and engages the traction control, trying to slow down the axle that is turning faster. This will cause the truck to come to a stop. I had this happen in another vehicle once. Work around was to pull the fuse for the abs/traction control. Not sure if this will work in the Tacoma.

I found this auto shifter knob on ebay. $36.00 US. To me it looks and feels nicer than the OEM. Screws right on and the boot clips to the bottom.
