i aint spending the mario coins on a prinsu. i have no morel issue bying the minsu rack and for the antenna. thats just too tall up there cuz then i would want a taller antenna just cuz i could. haha.

Do you recommend getting the program CD? or would it be needed to do the things you guys are always talking about (echotrack or w/e).

No you don't ned the programming software. Thing is simple to enter repeaters and such into and save in a memory spot. unless you have a list of 100 repeaters to program immediately just do it manually.

No idea on the hood mounts. Just consider that these antenna's radiate energy from them and that will radiate you also. I went with a NMO mount with dual shield rg-190 coax in the center of the roof. One and done with nothing to worry about.

As far as other things to get if you're mounting the radio itself under the seat go ahead and grab a external speaker for it. It's not very easy to hear using the one on the main radio under there. You will also need red and black wire to run from under the hood to the radio wherever you mount it. I went with 10 gauge. You'll probably want a mount for the control head. I went with a Lido mount. http://www.lidomounts.com/catalog/item/1478816/10152439.htm The radio comes with a fuse on the pigtail right at the radio but don't forget to fuse your power wire close to the source also to protect the wire run.

 

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ok. that makes sense now. ill prob just try the hood mount at first and if i dont like it, run with a tailgate mod.

 

awesome! just what i was looking for. and as for the hood mount, im not worried about the radation from VHF. im already screwed from being a ET in the CG and being near worst things bumpen 750+ watts. haha. and as for a mount, i was going to try and see if i could mount it to my DMM using a ram mount system.
