Yea I tried that. Didn’t work unfortunately. I tried reversing the way it was plugged into the factory harness and I tried at my wire connections. And I tried it with the switch depressed and not depressed and the headlights on and off

Going to try touching the wires to the battery tomorrow morning to see if they work or would that ruin them ?

I saw a red Tacoma acsess cab with this bumper at rowler flats, the two Spanish guys where dressed in riding gear butdidnt see anything to ride,

I thought there bumper looked light as hell compared to mine at 110# but for the price it’s pretty damn sick!!!

I literally planned on doing the same exact thing. Here is your problem: you need a Relay.

You can wire one into factory “fog light” wiring or do what I did.

I went to Walmart and bought the wiring harness kit for $15. Instructions were pretty self explanatory. (What I did) I cut the plugs off of the harness and just “hard-wired” them with butt connectors and heat shrink. Hooked up harness to battery. Fished the harness through the firewall and instead of using the supplied toggle switch I used the factory Foglight button.

Let me know how it goes. Good luck

To be honest I don’t know the name. It was just in the auto/electrical by the lights at Walmart. I think it was called “DT wiring harness”. This was on my older truck (which I no longer own). Or I could show you pictures.

Was going to do this on my truck now, but going to try and add the relay to OME fog harness. If you want to wait a couple days I can let you know how that goes and do a little write up.

I just got my lights and light bar in so I’ll be trying this on the weekend. As of right now my OME fog lights turn on. (I did the “anytime fog” mod a couple months ago). I will try to directly wire them up and see what happens.

*disclaimer* - anything electrical is not my forte, so feel free to point me in the right direction. My only knowledge is from online research and trial and error.

Ok, so I couldn’t wait any longer... I cut OME factory light plug right by the fog light bulb. Directly wired my lights in. Work perfect,(anytime, because of the “anytime fog mod”). No relay, no nothing.

If you directly wire in without a relay like you did, will the factory fog light switch still work, or will the fogs always be on? curious on how to go about this!

Don’t know the start of this topic.... but I have baja design pods in my bumper and they have some separate wire connectors it came with to go from pods to factory plugs, my dog switch works perfect, the guy who sold me the set up told me that he blew a fuse for the fog lights and replaced it with a bigger once and hadent had a problem... don’t know if I trust him because I can’t see pods blowing a fuse for the fog lights.. the pods have to pull less amperage .... not really sure though maybe it was a separate issue

Throwing it on this weekend. Any of you guys with the 5 piece design know which bolts go to what? There’s hardware bags labeled #01 and #02. Help would be appreciated.

That’s not a bad business move honestly, if you could get away with spending 10k on everything you could sell the bumpers and skids easy for the price, if you get the blueprints along with the tools they advertised it’d be worth it :notsure: possibly lol

That’s exactly what I did. Works great. I don’t have the anytime fogs mod tho. You can turn on/off with the stock fog switch.

After out messing about in the desert I tore my lower grill and plastic on my '12 Taco so i went looking for a cheap bumper and this is what I found (from a Jeep Wrangler no less) and priced at $189 shipped. I didn't know if it would fit but I had a good feeling it would and I could always fab up a support. And that's what I did; I removed the bent aluminum bumper support beam and got a 2x4x.120 tube to replace it and drilled holes to mount it to frame and bumper to it. Here are the results.

Nice job making it work, but it looks a tad narrow to me.
