Careful with those girly hair products. Scientific studies show that men who use skin and hair products with active ingredients known to aid in the production of estrogen have elevated levels of estrogen in their blood work. Just like how uv-rays from sunlight are absorbed by your skin and induce the production of vitamin D, many other vitamins and minerals are absorbed through skin cells from hand soaps, lotions, shampoo, shaving cream, etc .... You may literally be turning yourself into a female .... BigMacBriana

The latest on the Highlander saga:

I finally got ahold of the guy at Price’s collision and he told me that a manager came through and told him that they were not going to be able to do just a mechanical only repair after all. That because “they have to put their name on it” they would only consider doing a full repair back to like-new ($11k+ rough estimate). Since it took them almost a month to tell me that, they’ve decided not to charge me anything for the estimates they’ve done (still no tear-down estimate that they agreed to do), and they won’t charge me for storing the car there.

    So my options are (roughly):
    1. Drop $11k-15k into a 15 year old highlander (with 86k miles)
    2. Drop a similar amount of money on a used Toyota (with twice the miles)
    3. Go back into debt and finance a certified pre-owned Toyota (with very low miles)

I'm also looking into buying a *gasp* non-toyota vehicle. All I really need is a commuter car that seats 4 or 5 people that is at least kinda reliable. Something to commute in. Something I can drive around for a week if I break the truck badly enough.

    That’s fucked.

I’d vote spend the $11-15k and get you a Corolla or Camry. We got my sister a 2013 camry with 60k miles on it June of 2017 for $13k. It’s actually a pretty nice car, I’d daily it for sure.

Yeah I just don't think I can comfortably fit my big ass in a small car like that. Probably the smallest I'd go would be a rav4.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
I have a 2008 Highlander in the driveway not being used much any more. Around 105k on it I think. Coworker was thinking about buying it but not sure. If you might have an interest, you can PM me about it.

Have you called around to get prices on junkyard parts to do a DIY repair on the suspension/driveline components?
