I think I was the only one that wasn’t worried about it when we were cribbing it.

I don’t know if I’ve seen any that have “broken” per say, but some move more than others.

I used to have a 2015 Tacoma and scored some all pro apex bolt on sliders locally. Got them installed and did a test run with my hi lift to make sure I knew what I was doing before I hit the trail. As I was lifting, shit was creaking and popping and before you know it, the legs were on the pinch weld.

Fast forward a few years to when I now own a 2005 with mobtown weld on sliders. Did the same test, and the truck lifted without a peep. Sliders didn’t move a bit. I trust the hell out of these.

Couple clips of them in action.

Interesting, I've had very good response / customer service with questions I had from CBI. That's been a few years ago though and things can change over time.

Those are the long bed sliders including powder coat. The standard sliders are $140 less expensive and if you remove the powder coat option that will save you another $255. So you are looking at $1249 before any TW discount. If the sliders are getting shipped we do recommend ordering them raw since shipping companies do not do well with long pallets.

Our sliders are more expensive than others, but for that price, you are getting the lightest and strongest bolt on sliders on the market. You are also getting a slider with our unique mounting design that supports the entirety of the slider, no other slider offers this. All sliders are not an apples to apple comparison, ours are engineered, built and supported differently than the other sliders we are being compared to. The higher cost compared to others is not just in the 4130 material used (this is less than a $100 upgrade over DOM) but the entire build process of the sliders and the mounting hardware.

We are hoping that we will be able to lower our slider costs later this year. We are working with our metal suppliers closely, and there may be lower prices in the 2nd or 3rd quarter this year from them. We are also expanding into a new building this summer, and that will allow us more efficiency in our production processes. If it takes less time for us to build these and our material costs go down, the retail price will also go down.

Yeah, seeing yours in action is what made me so excited when I scored those from Jeremy.

That’s great info. I am surprised in the small price difference as far as materials go. I am well aware of the strength and weight difference and I acknowledge the fact that your mounting system is unique. Also the process for putting together the slider in 4130 is more difficult. At the same time I got my sliders with a somewhat custom angle, kick out, fill plates, and powder coated, shipped for less than what you are showing. For sure if you can bring down the price the people that know what 4130 is will be happy to pay for it. I think the hard sell is that most here will not take thier rigs to the extreme and weight savings and gain in strength will not reflect the difference in cost. Some people just buy whatever is cheapest. Some go overkill (I tend to fall in this category). If you offered a slider that was equal in strength to DOM and substantially lighter (possible with 4130 in the right thickness) and at near the same cost to the DOM competitors than you would surely have something in that.

When I am building my taco I take all factors into account. Weight, cost, strength, etc. for example I have a CBI T3 front bumper in aluminum because it is lighter than steel, still very strong, will help not make it as nose heavy since the taco already kinda is. Also in a crash the aluminum will be more forgiving, it is more protection than stock but will absorb the shock nicer than steel for the occupants. My rear bumper is a Pelfrey high clearance in steel. I wanted the steel for better weight balance putting a little more weight in the back, it’s also stronger protection for me if I get rear ended. Also for when I do tow I don’t worry about stress in the metal like I would if it was aluminum. My skids are also Pelfrey, I got a good deal, aluminum for the front, but steel for the transmission and tcase. Why? Because I am still trying to keep the front lighter, and I can keep the steel for the belly where I am more likely to hit and drag. I also have the aluminum gas skid, less likely to get hit and lighter to help notnhave the drivers side to much heavier than the passenger. And of course the sliders. I went with mobtown for several reasons. 1 I liked the mounting system. 2. I liked the use of DOM and the design. 3 custom angle and fill plates. I really wanted fill plates beacuse I have 3 kids, I don’t need any broken ankles or legs from slipping between the sliders. 4. The powdercoat from what I had heard was a great texture. Ended up to be true. Notice cost wasn’t really a big factor in most of my decisions. It is for many but I will pay for quality design and materials where I feel hey matter most. I will cut in other areas. Again if you could produce something as strong, much lighter , for similar cost that would be a real winner.

Sorry for the really long post but I wanted to be very clear in what I was trying to say.

As long as the end result is you being able to enjoy your truck with piece of mind, that is sometimes all that matters.

In regards to your statement - "If you offered a slider that was equal in strength to DOM and substantially lighter (possible with 4130 in the right thickness) and at near the same cost to the DOM competitors than you would surely have something in that." I'd say we already have 2 of the asks covered and always activly working on the 3rd-

-Our sliders are stronger than the DOM sliders on the market.
-Our sliders are substantially lighter than others on the market, weighing in at 49lbs each.
-We are working on the material costs and our efficiencies when it comes to producing our slider line. As those improve overtime, prices should come down. As it is, we as well as others, feel that our sliders are a great value even at their current price point.

I totally appreciate that. Working on cost is always difficult in this market. Maybe my next taco I might look into your sliders but I would still like to see full length fill plates. That weight saving would be nice.

Looking for a rock sliders fabricator in San Diego, CA that can make these... See pics attached. I’d have them make it for my truck, but theyre in Northern California. http://rockandroadperformance.com/tacoma-sliders/

Looks like they do great work, but I dont want to drive 10 hours just to have them install it on my truck. Any suggestions would be great.
