Has anyone installed a dual battery to a 2016 4x4 tacoma? I want to add accessories and switches Etc. I only heard the odessey 34 size batteries is best. But does that matter? Also what type of isolator or cables would I need?

Thanks for the advice! I am thinking just have having batteries separated and having aux bat on passenger side. Also, Joe23, what accessories do you have connected to the 27 north star? So if you have your truck off, would you still be able to run lights on accessories?

1 battery remains the main starting battery with everything originally with the truck off it.

Second one runs fridge and all the lights. Go in my build thread you'll see it Link is in my signature.

And I can run all the lights etc with the truck off.
I will be adding a winch soon which will come off the main battery but when winching will force link both together

Does the dual batteries have to be the same brand and volt etc?

Volts yes . Brand not so much.
But ideally unless you're running a smart charger, you want them to be the same type and size.
So dual AGM or dual wet cell.

I'm not saying you need to .Plenty run mixed. But it's best for charging if you're running two of the same batteries.

I run two group 27 agm
