3x3 steel tube walls, 22’ x 20’ x 6’8” high. Transportation would be tricky but doable if the three walls were joined on site. There’s too much liability to proceed without certification in place. No one wants to eat the cost of having to redo anything.

Prefab spiral stairs. I’ll have to send the plans for the deck to an engineer, then get permits.

There’s a chance that they’ll send a CWI to observe the welding. This isn’t a bridge or a skyscraper, but apparently chickens are rough on buildings. ;)

I wish builder’s charged for bidding, 2/3’s of looking at jobs turn into a waste of time. :-/

So book the inspection before you even start the project. Might not have to wait then.

Back when I was in the trade, I'd spend hours and hours bidding work just to have the client pass along all my work to their buddy so he could copy and beat it by $10.

Or....day dreamers who weren't really planning on doing anything in the first place.

I was getting about 1/10th the bids I gave.

Just one more good reason to be an asshole...

I did that last year. The electric inspector came 2 weeks after I scheduled it, and an hour before we were ready. I had to beg him to pass us, he did but not without scolding me first.

I had guy trick me into giving him a final bid, subs all lined up, every material priced out. He said yes to all the preliminary bidding, then took my final bid shopping. He called back a year later to bid fixing his disastrous remodel. I gave him my original bid plus 10k for being an asshole. I never heard back from him.
