Any reason I should go with an AC/DC welder? I don't see me TIGing AL anytime soon at home (read: ever)

I just got a mig 200 from them. So far so good. I read a few things about how it's hard to get in touch with them, but that info may have been old, I had already ordered so I didn't look into it much.

 

I don't need a 3k welder. If I need higher end I'll borrow my friend's trailblazer or something. I might go with a mig/tig/stick instead of a tig/stick/plasma though. Buy a stand alone plasma or just continue using cutoff wheels.

 

I was just kidding, not many of us do. I was considering a multi process but I want the ability to weld aluminum. I may get a tig/ plasma later, at the least a plasma.

Just curious how the warranty claims are handled I could see nothing on the website .

First thing I would want to know nothing like shipping your welder back to California only to be told user error but we can fix it for half the cost on new.
I would buy a Vulcan and be done

Someone was trying to argue with him in a thread and Chad kept likin every post the antagonist was puttin up. Started driving the dude nutts when Chad was like bombin him, it was freakin hilarious.

He also has an uncanny ability to like yer post before yah hit send.

 

I don't think a Vulcan is for me. I might spend a little more and get an Esab.

 

I would buy a Vulcan over a Esab the way Esab is to get parts for anymore

 

I have the Vulcan omnipro 220. I like it. havent used it to much and I only used it on 120v. The 220v plug doesn't match my 220v receptacles.

 

I just have an extremely hard time buying something for $1k from harbor freight.
