I purchased a 2008 extra cab 6 speed manual 4x4 about 6 months ago. It had 110k. I needed a work truck and a truck I could head up into the mountains with to go fishing. Nothing on the truck had been touched. I’m a plumber and carry a mid sized sewer snake that weights about 130 lbs. with my stock suspension my truck was bottoming out over little bumps. Talked with my boss and he was kind enough to purchase a new suspension kit of my choice. Did my research and came down to two manufactures Fox and Icon. In the end I chose the Icon stage 1 kit” 2.0 coil over, leaf spring pack, tubular delta joint UCA’s, 2.0 rear shocks”. Fox seems like a really good brand but a lot of the reviews I would read talked about how fox had to be dialed in and Icon can pre set up. I really wanted the stage three but didn’t want to give my boss a heart attack lol. With this truck I tow a 6’x10’ trailer. The trailer is a rolling plumbing shop so it has some weight to it. All I gotta say is the suspension is awesome for towing. Haven’t has a chance to get it up to the mountains. I had the suspension installed 5 days ago. I’m headed up to Mormon gap tomorrow for some snow time with the family cant wait to see how it does in the snow.
