I’m no full time mechanic, I just never owned one personally. So this is my first and it is pretty and from all the ones I’ve used around shops and home it definitely seems most quality. The fast pump is impressive.

Sounds like a nice piece of land. How many acres do you have?

As for tips on making trails or just clearing land, I don't know. It would depend on the terrain.

Depends how smooth you want the trails. Never had good luck with a bobcat on some trails I was trying to build on my parents property. I ended up rolling it twice before I gave up on using it. A tractor/front end loader with a forestry edge/blade does the best for clearing privot hedge and small saplings. Other wise chainsaw and sweat.

Pic of forestry edge or rake. Or a grapple works great too.

Finally got around to changing the front/rear diff and transfer case oil, spark plugs, ATF with filter change and full flush, and greasing the U joints. Was hoping the tranny flush would help solve a "clunking" problem I have, but it did not. Need other ideas on where to look

Do you have a winch on your truck? I’ve pulled more trees and shrubs with my winch then I have pulled trucks. Other than that, dynamite? I don’t have any real experiences trying to clear land.

Can you describe the clunking sound?

When I reverse out of my parking spot, shift to drive, and give it gas the truck does not move. I give it a bit more gas and it clunks (appears to come from the rear of the truck but its hard to tell from the drivers seat) and moves forward. I pull up to a stop sign about 20 yards away and stop. When I go again, it doesn't clunk, but it seems a little sluggish to move. Once the truck is warm, it goes away completely. All the diff/transfer case fluid looked pretty new when I changed it. No chunks of metal on the magnets. The transmission fluid was a dark brownish red, needed changing badly but didn't smell burnt and there were no chunks of metal in the pan, filter, or on the magnets. This was happening before the flush so I don't think that could be it. The transmission shifts wonderfully all other times so I kinda think (and hope) it may be something else. I suppose it could still be a bad U joint or carrier bearing maybe? If it were a mount, would it just stop once the truck was warm?

Clunking or a very low freq vibration is usually something broke or loose. Have you check the rear driveshaft and springs/shocks?

Also, try surfing through these posts:

I did push up on the drive shaft and there looks to be some play in the carrier bearing, but idk how much is normal.

Make sure there's no play behind your carrier bearing. That was causing my high speed vibe.

You may want to look into the xmsn/xfer case mounts, u bolts, etc.

The going into gear and being sluggish says trans, but the popping clunking could be u-joints. I checked u-joints multiple times and never could get them to shift/clunk by hand, but then it beat itself up on the way to Moab.

I'm going to check the transmission fluid level again to make 100% sure it's got enough in it. Im hoping its not the transmission.

I've got everything loaded up I have. Chainsaw, shovel, weadeater with blade etc. I've got a winch, used it to move big ass rocks before with a tow strap, so that should help, too. Hopefully I can cut some decent trails and ride the mess out them with the Polaris.
