How's the noise and MPG loss from just having the TopRack? I was looking at just some Yakima racks but then figured, why the hell would't I get a Prinsu or a Baja Rack?

I have just the toprac on right now. There hasnt been a big enough difference to notice a drop in mpg and i cant hear any noise from it. I do have bigger tires on so that might block it out but with the window down i cant hear anything.

Over GVWR and I keep adding more metal
Shell's off for repairs (it's not jumpworthy like a GFC). So the Prinsu kept things organized. NOTE TO NEW PRINSU owners... play around with the install, and like they say, make sure it's where you want it when you drill... I wish I mounted mine back an inch, but i was worried about it hitting the shell. I was too cautions, and it hangs out just a bit more forward than I'd like. Also, play around with different mounting configurations and mounting hardware. Take a few trips to the hardware store to make sure you have EXACTLY what you think you want for keeping it modular. In 3 minutes, I can reconfigure everything and set it up differently if desired... kinda the point of getting it!

Here's an older pic with the shell on, keeps gear up top and the bed open for sleeping :)

I haven’t noticed any MPG loss, and I tried to hear wind noise and couldn’t hear anything. Very satisfied, you will to. Just need to find the perfect fishing rack system.

Got a question for those who have a 50" light bar bracket on their racks. Can I get dimensions of the bracket? I would like to put my own together for when I get a rack of my own. Thank you.

How are you guys mounting your rotopax so they fit low on the rack? Not interested in buying load panels. Looking at getting a 4gal can and I dont want a gap between the can and the rack.

You could just bolt the mounts directly to the channels in the crossbars themselves.

Anyone have experience with getting a light bar cutout but then using the supplied piece as a placeholder? No budget for the light bar yet but will most likely eventually get one so wanna know how bad it looks/wind noise and other stuff is with the cutout and no light bar.
    Thanks

It's not bad. I had a full screen then changed it with cutout for a big with no light. It just looks odd without a light.

Tied several boat anchors to my truck to destroy MPG.
I ran a windscreen with a cut out but without a light until I got the funds to get the light. It wasn't bad at all...just do all the other precautions to reduce wind noise if that bothers you.

Mind me asking what it cost u all in all, I just recently ordered mine from a local shop and they will have it shipped to them and I pick up, hence no shipping as well, saved 70$ or so, and for a DC cabrack with 40" cutout and the little black rubber noise strip I believe I'm at about 619$ pre tax they said. Should be in within the next week or so.

Anybody got an estimated install time? I'm fairly handy, did my own lift install etc but wondering if I could squeeze this in after work one day or wait until the weekend? And install tips are welcomed. Do you piece together your rack on the ground first, find your roof holes and "drill" through the weather-strip, then just bolt and silicone up?
