Just debadged mine. Need some contrast, but the black trim on the OR helps. Badges were the last of the chrome to go. I considered putting black badges on but think I’ll keep it like this. Stickers stay for now.

Yep, the 16 ORs came without an OEM chrome 4X4 tailgate badge so I "fixed" it.

I’m gen 2 and pondered this for a while before I took the plunge and debadged. I’m glad I did! I looks much cleaner.

Should I add new black overlays, new emblems or debadge them all and add the TRD sport emblems like the pro emblems I have been seeking pop up here lately. I think with the little chrome on the headlights, mirrors, lug nuts and exhaust pipe I may leave it alone. Thoughts anyone.IMG_20190101_121203445_HDR.jpg IMG_20190101_121103586_HDR.jpg IMG_20190101_121030897_HDR.jpg

I think you should get rid of the chrome door badges but if you want to try the matte black, I got a set of 2nd gen matte black you can slap on to see if you like then keep for free or get yourself some 3rd gen matte black badges.

Heres a pic of the 2nd gen I have for you to try compared to the 3rd gen OEM chrome I took off.

For the tailgate strip the chrome and either paint them matte black or get black replacements

Not sure if you'd like the overlays, they look like overlays. Black badge replacements look more legible.

It just depends on your preference of course. But, since you asked, I got rid of the chrome on my truck (DCOR). Debadged, black wheels and black grille. Badges were last to go, but I like the look. For the Sport with painted fenders, black badges might provide a nice contrast. Good luck.

Damn...I feel so unworthy now. Maybe I should take the SR5 emblems off and buy some cool stickers to put on the side of my bed.

...Fuck that shit, I'll be rocking the SR5 proudly!

I did change my wheels out for a set of Sport's, just cause I hated the SR5 wheels, but anyone that knows Tacoma's will know it's not a Sport.

Took my “TACOMA” and “V6” badges off this morning. Loving the cleaner look. Still have the “TRD off road etc..” stickers on the bed but will come off in 2 weeks when I am back home. Had the wife print me a pair of matte black US flags as well as a carbon fiber bullet one to add some character to it.

Do you mean one of those TRD Pro type door badges for a Sport?
