It doesn’t give up when things get hot?

 

I would Love to use OEM filters. Problem is Nobody will ship to Canada. (Gotta love free trade) So I use K&N's at about a dollar cheaper than OEM, go figure.

 

Any feedback on the Pennzoil full synthetic? Lot cheaper than Mobil !

 

I refuse to use the oem i cut one open and was shocked at how cheap it looked inside.

 

Or Royal Purple ?

 

Look at wear it was refined. With only 3 it might be similiar.

 

6 qts Mobile 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-20. Costco had a case for $24 recently so I bought 6 cases.

While I was at it, I switched the plastic oil filter cartridge housing for a metal one, and I replaced the drain plug with a Fumoto Valve. I bought a 3 pack of OEM filters on ebay cheap.

 

I saw video on this and the OEM was made better with more filtering media !

 

Y would u run oem you saw the pictures.

 

I used that in my 1st gen, 250,000 miles no issues.

 

What ive learned with some of these snobby Bmw owners is that if you put a quart of oil in front of them that is less than 12 dollars they think you dont understand their "ultimate driving machine".

Volvo owners are like this too. I tried to sell a $800 steering rack on an S60 one time and the guy was like, "im not putting that piece of junk on my car! The volvo dealer says that part is $1,200". Im thinking, so you want me to mark it up more? Ok.. i called him back, told a found a "different" more expensive rack and he said great! Call me when its done!

 

I also used Fram filters in my 1st gen, zero issues. Fram are supposedly horrible.

 

That was before the changed who makes the filters. Now they have little media no valve. Cheap light cap.

 

What filters you use John ?

 

Wix or napa gold they are the same filter.

 

I bought the OEM, and some really obscure off brand name. The El Cheapo, $4.00 looked the same. I think the cartridges are nearly all the same.

 

I cant wait till coscto comes to st.cloud. looking at mid summer.

 

Sounds like I can continue to be lazy and buy my filter at O’Reilly.
