I'll see if I can pull it up at work tomorrow. Just bought a 16 Trd OR and my amps burned up today going to call the dealer in the morning. I got about 44k on mine hope they'll cover it.

It would have cost about 800 bucks for the parts and labor if Toyota hadn't covered it.

I laughed at that too. My ass isn’t worth $800 to be warm. LOL and yet there’s guys buying the units for like $79 and putting them in them selves

Well got an appointment Tuesday for them to take some pictures and send it to toyota. He said on the phone it's a case by case if they'll cover it or not. Fingers crossed and for some reason that tab isnt on alldata.

Please report any fire hazards. You could be saving someone's life if this is really a hazard that affects other trucks.

Just had my driver side seat heater replaced last Monday. It started working intermittently last winter. Took it in to Toyota last year and on the way there it started working. Since it was working when I dropped it off they wouldn’t even look at it. When I asked my service advisor if it was a fire hazard his words were “it’s surrounded by flame resistant material so it SHOULDN’T, but I can’t guarantee it won’t”. Fast forward to this year with colder weather rolling in and it was working fine at first, then went out again. This time I got it in while it wasn’t working. They replaced it under the TSB but when I asked about them replacing the passenger one I was told 1.) the seat heaters are different parts for driver and passenger side (false) and 2.) the passenger side would have to have a confirmed failure before they’d replace. With the holiday, I haven’t been back by to confront them with the false information I was given to get me to shut up or ask again about replacing the passenger seat heater.

Did it cost you anything for the drivers seat to be fixed?

Here’s an update, mine stopped working
    module.jpg wires.jpg

My drivers side heated seat stopped working as well, and looks to be the exact same failure. Since you can no longer just buy the module itself, I am assuming there is something wrong within the harness itself..... Best part is I have 300 miles and 17 days left of my factory warranty lol

Interesting thread. We have a 2019 (took delivery December 26) and as near as we can tell, the both heated seats weren't working when we drove it off the lot (have discussed this on another thread). Would think it has to be a different issue. We'll know more after it goes in for a lookee see.

Add my 2016 to the list of failures. For me it was the centre pin that failed. Looks just like the one above.

One more. Just noticed the past couple days that my driver's side seat heater was not working. I checked the amp and it is also melted up on the first pin.

2016 Limited 4x4 Built at the Mexican plant mid-December 2015 and picked up early January at the dealer. So I am a bit less than 2 months out of my 3 year warranty expiring, although 33,800 miles. So I guess it's time to call the dealer and if necessary Toyota to see what they can do about fixing it.

The passenger side still works fine, so I unhooked that amp to check and it is completely fine at this point. But maybe I should be worried about that acting up in the future? Could be ok right now since it doesn't get used as often.
