Sound is largely unchanged if you only replace the header. Mufflers are how you get the cloud of farting bees effect.

LCE header is 10/10 stuff, and if I parked my truck next to a stock one and we both revved up I doubt you could tell much of a difference, if any.

Haha I was afraid of that but honestly like Nitori said, you can’t even tell it’s there at all

If there is anyone with a 2016+ 2.7L that would like for us to develop a dyno tune for them and is in SoCal ( san Diego / Carlsbad ) that could drop their truck off for a day. Please let us know.
Second to that, if there is someone with a 2016+ 2.7L that would be interested in some R&D directly with us like we are doing on the 4Runner, and can get a stock, baseline dyno run, and run of our tune, we will send you a kit and pay for your dyno runs. (from any location, just need access to a dyno).

********** important to note that depending on the ECU version you may have to send us the ECU for a day to pull the data from the processor *******

Were you able to do much with my 2005 ECU that you had for 4 months?

From OC have a stock 2016 2.7. I can take a day off work and come down early morning and hang out while you do what you need too even if it takes 12 to 15 hours. I'm interested in the process and would love watching your process just for my own understanding and knowledge.

Going 75mph. Truck stuck on 4th at 3500rpms. I put it in S5 and slowed down to 70, only then did it shift into 5th.
I wasn't on the highway long enough but next time I'll show you what it does on D at 70mph. (4-5-6-4-5-6 gear hunt).

Is the current delay with getting some sort of 2.7 flash getting the definitions for the parameters in the ECM software?

I have a 2nd gen 2.7 Auto, and just drove a 3rd gen 2.7 Auto. Let me just say...the difference is NIGHT and DAY. I set my 2nd gen cruise at 80 mph, and it’s hold steady except when going up “small to medium” incline. The 3rd gen, OMG, it wouldn’t hold 80 mph on flat highway. Seriously, it shifted down and never shifted back up until I got off the interstate.

I was all set to get the 3rd gen...thank god I drove it! I could NEVER live with that. I ended up with a V6 Off-road. Honestly, on the highway, the 2nd gen 2.7 is as good if not better than the 3rd gen V6. I had to trade my 2.7, because I had to have 4x4.

I’m definitely not trying to disrespect any 2.7 3rd gen guys, but the difference is so remarkable, I just had to post this.

Interesting perspective. I've driven my brother's 2nd gen 5-lug 2.7 and loved it. Mine is a 3rd gen 2.7 4x4 which i definitely love, but its a 5 speed stick. Glad i found that combo. FWIW, i havent driven a 3rd gen v6, but id like to. Curious to see what becomes of this tune.

Also have a 5 speed 3rd gen 4x4 (which I added cruise control to) and love driving it. It's not going to win any drag races but it's a hell of a little rig. King of my little kingdom in that thing.

Thinking about eventually super- or turbo-charging - for science - but wouldn't mind a tuning in the meantime.

Thats exactly what I'm dealing with. The thing acts erratic on the highway. I believe there's a class action lawsuit on it.

I have the 2016 2.7 auto and just drive around in 5th gear on the interstate. Can’t tell what the gas mileage difference is from stock since I’m running 235/85/16 Cooper ST Maxx tires on it with a 2.25” lift. In 5th gear I noticed it doesn’t search for gears like it does in drive.
