Was told I need to at least cut small crossmember between frame rails that currently houses the stock skid plate bolts? Would be very happy if I don’t need to use the grinder.

I had to section out the small skid hanger cross member where the bolts hit - just spray it with primer and install the cross member then you'll see where the nuts are hitting the cross member. You can kind of see it here - I might just cut the whole thing off eventually, but I tried to cut as little as possible just to show people where the cross member can interfere with the bumper.

With all the recent talk about tire sizes I thought I'd share the tire journey I took with my 99

Sometime around 2005 I went from stock 31's to 33's.....i don't think I have any pictures with the 31's

2010 -33x12.5 with trimmed fenders and 3.75 BS

    2012 - 33x12.5's sitting on a 2 inch lift

    2015 - 35x12.5 sitting on a 2 inch lift and a tubbed firewall

    2019 - 35x12.5's sitting on a 0.5 inch lift and a tubbed firewall

Nice truck! Very similar to mine other than the year difference. Can't beat a manual everything tacoma with the bulletproof 4 cylinder.
Won't stay stock for long being a member on these forums! At least mine didn't haha. Always something to improve/fix/upgrade on these trucks.

Thanks! When I bought it a couple months ago I told myself it would stay stock. So much for that. Let me know if you guys go out again and don’t mind me tagging along! Should be on 33s soon.
