You always have more fat and less muscle than you think lol

I plan bulks and cuts like I plan rennovations for my house. I work in at least a 10% room for error.

I’m 40 now but started about 10 years ago when I got less and less active. Basically put on “husband weight” then five years later put “daddy weight” on top of it.

I didn’t want to be that dad that couldn’t keep up with their kid so I finally got off my ass. My son is about to turn 5 and I can pretty much out last him now so my first goal is accomplished. Now my goal is to be the strongest in my gym behind the owners/trainers who are brothers. We have a PR board on the wall so pretty easy to see where I stand.

Rogue hooked me up with a repair kit!! It even included the needed Allen wrench. Good as new, now!

I’m only 25. So I assume my dad bod days are comingeventually. But that’s basically the same goal for me as far as kids. I want to be able to keep up with them in sports and all that. So kudos to you for that!

Andddd that’s fucking cool that they have a PR board.

I actually didn’t know this lol. It’s so sad looking down and seeing rolls and love handles.

I’m probably around 18-20% BF if I could guess. Never Got checked.

Any one do yoga here? Interested in trying to do a short routine before bed but I have never done it (I used to be one of those super masculine dudes that scoffed at cardio and yoga).

Joining a class is not an option for me. Any apps or streaming services worth it?

Man, that PR board is no joke. Brings out the competitiveness in everybody. They’re taking it a step further and will be recognizing the men’s 1000 and women’s 500 pound totals on the wall.

I searched “yoga for beginners” on YouTube and there was some chick that was pretty hot and had good reviews. I’ll see if I can find them again. Did it for a couple of months, need to get back into it again

I will find you. I will offer to spot you. I will let the bar choke you.

I can’t imagine people’s houses who leave gyms like this

Got a nice pre super bowl workout in. Yesterday I walked my big pup 4 miles and the smalle dogs 1.5 miles together followed by a solid bi/tri workout. Had about 17000 steps by the end of the day. I kept low on calories as well to splurge more today.

Today I walked one mile and ran three on the treadmill. Bring on some Zaaaaaaa!

I’m around 9% right now and still have rolls.
Skin rolls when you sit lol

    Don’t set unrealistic goals

    Occasionally.
I am rehabing a hip injury and the stretching and core work really helps. Plus I’m a high stress person. I need something to keep the calm.
I’ve not tried any aps but work on certain poses and try to work on breathing.
Cobra, warrior, and childs pose are my fave for relaxing poses.

That's awesome! I'm also 40 but got started 25 yrs ago this year.. definitely agree with all you say! I have 2 little ones and even though time is extremely limited I am determined to be a fit dad. It's not a sprint.. it's a marathon.

x2. No homo. I have never wanted to be sub 10% or super veiny like competitive bodybuilders are but the more I get into fitness... the more I can appreciate the amount of dedication and work it takes to get that level.
