We used to go up behind Golden Eagle. Less than a mile from my house. But...transplants living in that area have called the sheriffs on people before (claiming unsafe practices or saying people are shooting in direction of homes). They come up, make sure everyone is doing things safe, and go on their way.

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
Those zones (the 5000' rifle/pistol and 1000' shotgun) apply in all of Washoe County.

I think you're worried about this more than you need to @obscurotron. There is plenty of open space that you can go to target shoot and as long as you're not an idiot about it you will be fine.

The bigger concern for me when heading out is sparking a fire. I'm not really worried about the distance from a structure because with all the open land out here it is easy to get the space you need.

I go to a CrossFit initiative, its on the SW side of town. Its a more laid back gym, all good people as well.

Lemme know your next day off @obscurotron. As some CA twat who migrateded, I would be happy to help clarify things that happen during the transition and how to keep the locals from calling you liberal words.

I’m a CA migrant too. I moved here when the economy was at the worst though so you know I did it for the love of Reno and not just because it was the cool thing to do. :D

So many of you migrants! As long as you don’t vote to make nv what you left I’m cool.

What type of gym are you looking for?

Nice! "Day off". Between moving, and starting a new job soon, that phrase is going into the "Book of Unknown Words" for a while. :D

Cardio equipment, decently stocked free weights. Weight machines are OK but prefer the dynamics of free.

As for voting, FFS trying to make NV into "California East" is the last thing I want to do. I want my guns, my red meat, and my truck, in that order. Well, my dog too, but he didn't make it to the promised land. :( Had to put him down a few weeks ago. I was excited for him to have a new home and a new yard, but no such luck.

Some of the places in CA we shoot on BLM land have the same problem. I'm fine spending 20 minutes clearing an area down to bare soil, if I can't find a bare backstop to start with. Plus water, extinguishers, etc. are always on hand.

Sorry for the dog loss man. That shit is sucks.

In a few months I’m going to breed my Red Heeler Cattle dog with my cousins Blue Heeler. Both AKC. If anyone might be interested in Heeler puppies in a few months.
