Am I the only one who noticed the lazy shop also installed the bolt backwards?

    I have beef with you...

All those times when I was growing up on family game night...

You always told me "do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars, go straight to jail"

Bruh. That’s a pro-tip for LR UCA owners. It’s faster to get the bolt out that way.

For real tho, lots of people do put the bolt in backwards cause it’s easier. Nuts and bolts like to walk off my truck in washboard so I prefer the correct way so the bolt doesn’t fall out completely.

Easier removal when they break I guess?

With how many people I’ve heard of having those things come lose I have no idea why anyone would do that.

I’m surprised you haven’t welded those on too :boink:

My qualifications are the same as yours; a person on the internet responding to a concern that was posted. I have seen many different UCAs in person, and installed/replaced both OEM, SPC, total chaos, camburg, dirt king to name a few. I can say that I would rather have the OEM UCA than the SPC.

What has been done to remedy the issue? Are you an engineer at SPC? In my opinion SPC is on the same lines as dorman, most of the parts are junk. The UCAs and cam bolts for the tacoma are both pure junk. Maybe they are hit and miss for other parts for other vehicles, not sure.

But for the picture below is why I would never run their product on my personal truck or recommend them to anyone. I've seen several in person break like this and it's downright dangerous.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
I feel everyone has brands they tend to lean on. What I view as unfortunate is when a newer member is asking a valid question, has spent money on parts that are installed and others decide to rag on them. Any part can break, for every broken pic of an SPC UCA you find there are thousands that continue to perform without issue. For most applications on these trucks people (myself included) have absolutely no issue with them as our vehicles are not dedicated rock crawlers or see much more than daily driving and the occasional dirt road. Budgets vary and the OP made a decision to go with SPC. Every aftermarket UCA manufacture has had some sort of issue at some point, weather it be uni balls or welds or something. The OP ask a question regarding his install not to be beat on for his choice of manufacture. To be degraded for his decision or to call his choices trash is unfortunate. Though that is the opinion of some and they have every right to it though tact is a thing and something senior members and people in an authoritative position here used to have.

Funny being called out by someone who joined this forum several years after I did. Turns out this is less of a forum with respectful people and is becoming a club where if you have an opinion differs from the main stream you are ganged up on. That is called a club gentlemen not a forum where members can come to share thoughts and have differences of opinions but still be respected and treated fairly. In a club typically everyone shares like beliefs and thus can sit around a beat one another off as they seldom have a reason to challenge each other. Enjoy your club!

OP, enjoy your truck and new parts. It is unfortunate you have been disrespected in the fashion you have been in this thread. There are some good people here.
