I know there is other solutions out there. Was looking to get 3 Carling switched in the cubby. Ended up being VERY easy since I had the parts on hand. This is on my 2018 TRD OR.
Apologies up front for my lack of coordinated story/picture telling abilities.

first was I removed the cubby and switch cluster. Thanks to my other thread- its brute force and a plastic no-marr trim removal tool is VERY helpful
Second, unclipped the three wire harnesses (bed light on/off/door, auto high beams and bed power inverter
    Brought cubby to my bench
Unscrewed the four small phillips screws holding the cubby to the rest of the unit (these are on back by wire harness).
I then test fit the three gang Carling Switch mount https://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/carling-switches-accessories/mounts-accessories/carling-3-switch-gang-mount.html.
You can see the switch mounts come with end mounts (that are rounded and trimmed) and the middle mounts (that are just straight)....I run these on my boat, actually did two rows of 10 and they are REALLLY nice and clip together flawlessly.
It was a little tight at first...but only by a few cunthairs, as we say in Maine... I used my triangle file to square off the corners andmaybe 5 swipes of the file on the four edges. REALLY didnt take much plastic away.
Slid the three gang switch mount right in to place, like BUTTAH.
First order of business was to finally have a FRACKIN dedicated 4.8amp Blue Sea dual usb charger for my GPS, Ipad etc. DIRECT TO THE BATTERY (yes, yes, with appropriate fuses). Blue Sea... They are worth every penny. I guess I have two other Carling size switch holes to fill now, one will be for the dual battery monitor I have coming.

I'm not much of a write up guy, but hope this helps someone for a VERY inexpensive way to do this. The three gang switch is about $5.00 and maybe you can find them in the states. I use that MudUK for all my rover stuff. Great people.

I tried this, and I must have ordered a different 3-piece switch plate... I couldn't figure out how it could fit without major modification to the cubby. So, I promptly sent them back to Amazon. Upon fooling around with my switches (I'm waiting for the 3rd "locker" switch to arrive on Tuesday), I was able to make the Carling style Rocker switches fit (and work) in the existing cubby by putting the stock "rubber piece" on top of the switches. I'll eventually secure them with double sided tape or velcro to the bottom of the cubby...
