Just FYI @ChadsPride If we can get this organized by the beginning of March, most people will be getting their income tax then since it’s a little late this year. A good time to hit  IMO :spending:

Also to get some extra cash for whoever we go with, maybe do an auction of our car parts or w/e trying to sell. Ppl have their item n set a min bid price- then let it go from there and the additional money paid for the item goes to charity. Unless that person doesn’t need to sell it and wants to give all money received .
    Watcha think ?

The reasons I was MIA for a bit....

I was in weapon certification class most of last week and then OC Spray cert....my days and schedule messed up due to the change in work schedule for the week and then having my girls more often than normal (TOTALLY NOT COMPLAINING) because...well...yeah I'll just leave that part at that. I ended up having issues with my right eye. It was scratched somehow during the OC cert and my vision was hazy so reading as irritating because I couldn't see properly.

I'm better now...schedule not like normal though due to having my kids more often than normal and I'm now having to work that out with child care while I go to work.

Oh, I see, I think. I thought that was just COTA collecting - didn't know they actually siphoned anything off. Just based on how little I saw information and the old comments....

    Carry on!

OK, I think I have it. Our C&C flyer (since I've been around) USED to say "charity is apparently not a thing with this group".
You and @because_minitruck got after someone, and now it says:

How Much: $5 per vehicle to Park in the Show Area of Lot A
Free to Park in Lots A (non-show), B, C, and D and walk around
This money is a donation to a different sponsored charity each event.

    Charity Supported:
Travis County Center for Child Protection
    https://centerforchildprotection.org/

    Their Mission:
Our mission is to reduce the trauma for children during the investigation and prosecution of crimes against children.

    What they do:
The Center for Child Protection is a nationally accredited children’s advocacy center and the only non-profit in Travis County involved in the investigation of crimes against children. For more than 25 years, the Center has been the first stop for children in Travis County who are suspected victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect and for children who have witnessed a violent crime.

The Center is a child-friendly, specially-equipped facility where children go for recorded forensic interviews, medical exams, counseling and intervention during the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases. All services are provided to children and their protective caregivers at no charge and are available in English and Spanish.

I guess if you drive a Toyota truck in, they must just have some button they push, because the people taking the collection never ask. At any rate, I thought this was our "official" charity.

The old placeholder I had in there about "not their thing" was them not posting up on FB who it was they were supporting. They have always had a charitable group, just I couldn't find it.

All proceeds go to the selected Charity for that event. They just finally started updating their FB better

Right on. This will be a separate event from C&C so that's why we should find our own charity for it specifically.

Thanks. That whole deal was always confusing to me. Comment belongs to "them".
Knowing this group a little bit now, it's was hard to imagine that "we weren't charitable". Now "able to come to a quick decision", that I see.
