    Reminds me i need a new snatch strap before next spring. Mine is haggard and needs to be retired.

    I’ve seen some cringeworthy things as a kid from not only my family but also friends. I’ve always been the guy that wishes them luck and walks away after trying to convince people it’s not a good idea. Specifically using chains. Not to say I haven’t used a chain before (actually had to use one when I pulled my buddy’s T4R out during the hurricane) but I take all precautions to keep people safe and shit my pants the whole time lol

    Just trying to look out. I had a mishap with a ratchet strap. Could of been really bad. In my defense though there was no snatching it was all steady pull. My buddies anchor point on his truck broke sending the ratchet and hook right into the hood and grille of mine. Thankfully no one was hurt and just minor damage that was a no biggie. Huge lesson learned there. Make sure anchor points are sturdy, don't use any strap with metal, and make sure everyone is in a relatively safe location.

    We used chains all the time to get farm equipment unstuck. But those things were massive and we just used steady pressure. They aren't meant for sudden loading like snatching someone out of being stuck.
