Yes, you’ll need a front camera... after much debate, I purchased this one from Amazon because of the low price and multiple installation mount options (I’m happy with it so far):

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LXJ66DW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1

I tried several locations, and found this mounting spot between the valance and bumper to work best for me (on a “limited model” front end), I may change to a higher quality camera later... maybe:

    6779951D-E6EF-4F01-B6CB-3A16DCE3E03B.jpg

No new holes drilled... just used the existing valance to bumper bolt.

You can see all the way to the ground in front of the bumper, and you see enough of the truck’s front to judge distance without hitting anything (that’s the point, isn’t it). I couldn’t be more satisfied with the product ease of installation... THIS is the solution, unless you really like extra switches (the Limited trim doesn’t have any additional space without adding a switch panel from shapeways or other option).

Amazon as a source for cameras, many of which have a option to include/exclude warning lines... and of course TW for various options/vendors to buy anytime/front camera mods (several options to choose from, I recommend car-solutions if you don’t want to install extra switches)... all with install instructions. Check out YouTube for info as well, search “anytime camera install on Tacoma”.

The car solutions module provides 12v to the camera. All you need is a ground near the camera.

That my friend, was a huge PITA... I went in through the passenger side firewall grommet as it has two “extra” nipples designed for aftermarket access. Well, once you cut the nipple, there is enough room for two/three 18 AWG wires, but no way is an RCA AV cable head going through those tiny holes. Note that the holes inside the grommet get smaller than the outside nipple appearance, there are two of these separate restrictions you’ll have to pass wires through.

I ended up drilling through the bottom nipple, increasing the drill bit size one by one until I could work the RCA cable through... note, you will need a flexible drill shaft and a small utility/hand size drill due to the limited room to get in and attack. Complete PITA to drill through soft flexing rubber, you’ll need to take your time.

There is probably a better and easier method, but I wanted to do a clean install that could be returned to stock without noticing the mod if necessary. By using the lower access nipple, it’s almost completely unnoticeable unless you know to look for it, and then you still need to put some effort into finding it.

The camera that I used has the warning lines. Its resolution is better than the OEM rear camera.

Installed Clazzio leather seat covers in my 2017 d.c. sport!!! Also installed seat heaters.By far the best mod. I have done yet!!!! They absolutely look OEM.I would recommend buying from Clazzio.com!!! Customer service is excellent.I spoke with Logan,Very knowledgeable and cared about my needs.I am posting pictures of my instal, the one picture is where I installed the switch for my seat heaters.putting the switch on side of seats, makes the wiring much easier.

Finally tinted. This was the longest I've had a vehicle with no tint and it sucked lol I felt like I was in a fishbowl. Went with Llumar 20% all around. Pic isn't the greatest as it started raining as soon as I got home. Now I gotta research and debate with myself to see if I want to get LED headlights. I've heard the new Supernova V4 is significantly better in our projectors than older LEDs.

Nothing is more Canadian on a cold Lower Mainland winter day than driving across the line to your US mailbox, Tim Horton's in hand, and picking up your packet from Taco Garage...so you can save about $60

So glad that I finally got the ventvisors/rain gutter thingies on....now that it has stopped deluging and is cold and snowing instead

Installed the DMM from Taco Garage...easy install, intuitive and pretty much idiot-proof (something about knowing your customer base, methinks ). Finished up rock solid, I think it is gonna be good. There was a bit of panic as tugging on the trim piece resulted in a sound akin to a rifle shot, but it was just a really tight connector. And everything went back in places seamlessly. Went with RAM phone and tablet mount, only cuz I've used them in the past and they were a known quantity

Felt good to finally be able to do SOMETHING on the Grey Ghost, beyond clicking 'Pay Now' on Amazon et al as I gazed at the negative digits on the thermometer; the DMM was something I could do without having to lie on the frozen cement floor in the garage. It was also much easier, cuz the wife was at work. She is a wonderful lady and really understanding, so I am sure that she wouldn't have objected to having bits of plastic and metal shavings on her new hardwood floor (With the sunshine coming in through the the patio doors, the kitchen was really toasty and welcoming) and a few tools spread out on her new marble counter top (I got a Taco, she got a kitchen). As I said, she is very patient, but in anticipation of a quiet and relaxing evening in front of the computer and tele, it really was better that she was at work.
