Diy: Dent removal

Heres a little DIY for a dent removal system

Things you will Need

1.Compressed Air In a can.(Dust removal)
2. Heat Gun



Heat up the spot where theres a dent for 5 to 8 minutes
Be sure that the spot is hot enough
Flip the Can upside down so that when you shoot it comes out cold

Spray it around the dent And watch it evaporate
The Dent should be removed


Do it a couple of times if dent isnt fully removed
Note: This technique will not work very well on the curves of a car because they are the strongest part of the body.

it doesnt work, it might pop it out but the metal will dent back in when it heats up.

 

the smaller the dent the more force you need to apply....

i tried this after my hood got dented after a hail storm, didn't worked, tried it with dry ice also....

i just tried to do it and it failed...did i not heat it up enough? and keep in mind in in dallas tx and its 100 outside and probably 110-120 degrees in the garage. i did the hair dryer before i started the video for about a good minute on the hottest setting. did i do anything wrong?

Doesnt work there because you already creased the metal. This trick only works on large areas where the metal hasnt yet yielded.

 

It looks like it's not evaporating as quickly as in the video, which makes me think it wasn't hot enough. Try it again a while longer. The heat from a hair dryer should not damage your paint, so you can leave it on there for 5 minutes easily before forcibly cooling the dent.
Also, did I see a crease in your dent? If you have a crease the force from the expanding and contracting metal isn't distributed evenly on a non-spherical dent, which might be why it won't pop out.
Just try it again, hotter.

ETA: the original video showed a heat gun with much higher temperatures than a hairdryer can reach. Be careful with that. Personally I am not comfortable using one on paint, but it can also explain why your try didn't work for you.

 

I have never had to do it, but with that in mind I can say that the physics contradict you. It makes perfect sense that the forced heating and cooling will create expanding and contracting forces on spherical metal dents that can make it pop back out.

 

Sorry man but i dont think you did it right.. with a blow dryer you have to have it on the car twice as long as a heat gun.. probably like 15 minutes..
It has to get hot. or else it wont work. then when you spray... Spray alll around the dent not just the inside of the dent.

This dent removal does work just takes time and patience which people dont have. theres no hoax here. popcorn is irrelevant to Hot and Cold counteracting with each other.

 

Tried it today, and it didn't work. I call bullshit.

 

your a hater. This does work. not on every dent though.
