Mike, the guy who designed the kit, runs multiple transfer cases to get crazy low gearing off road. As far as on road, 5.29s probably pushes them along well!

triple cased. He's owns the slowest tacoma in the world. Can literally put it in gear, get out, and watch it crawl down a steep rock face.

Not impressive, I heard someone with a single case 4runner did that in Rausch Creek on a purple.

He drives it daily runs 4.88s as of right now but will eventually switch to 5.29s. He was one of the big pushers to get 5.29s available for the 3rd gens. He runs 2 of his crawl boxes and then the normal t-case. Everything in L he is at like 488 to one gear ratio which torque multiplies to close to 100,000ft of tq to the wheels. Low and slow is the way he wheels. He has a complete write up and gear ratio break down on his build thread.

The savings account has already been started for the suspension and the doubler has been in the plans since day uno.

Dat undercoat!!!!! My German Shepard was like that, I used a brush called a rake. It helped out tremendously. During the main 2 times he would really shed his undercoat I brushed him out twice a week worked out really well.

That torque multiplication is where it's really at. The only issue is you have to drive it completely differently. You gotta let it crawl. Because of the massive amount of torque now it's a lot easier to break things if you try and power through it obstacles.

We use a rake. I brush her 2 times a week for this amount about 6 months out of the year. I also have a pile of fur this high in my 4runner from our recent flagpole trip that she rode along for. And I do not have a shop vac and have not had a chance to get it out at a gas station... its annoying

Get one of those doggy cradle things for the back seat. It's on my list just because mine likes to puke.

Like you said, at that ratio you literally have to let IT do the work. It's cool but it would suck the fun out of normal trails unless you left the cases disengaged.
