Just found this thread. Read thru last half. Am I right by saying the best low beam bulb now is a GE +130 and some testing on a high beam is coming? Wanting to buy some new bulbs but making sure I get good ones. Stock lows suck. Highs I’m ok with. 17 Pro if that matters

I’ve tried many of the highest claimed performing low beam bulbs and measured the output, the GE is by far the best. I also compared them to a standard H9 and they are still better. There are a couple companies that claim to make performance H9s, which may unseat the GEs if they are the real deal. Won’t know till they show up. Performance H9s are basically a unicorn in that they are not supposed to exist.

Nicely done. Those are the ones that I think will be the best for the low beam. It is hard to judge how real a plus rating is on an H9 but based on their H9 +80 Plasma Gold performance, I’d say it is legit. I ordered mine a while ago, they were out of stock forever, they should arrive possibly next week.

I do have another similar H9 +100 on the way, but it has a blue coating on the front and back of the bulb. Less coating is better, so all other things equal I’d expect the Lunex ones to do better.

So. What about these in Highs and Lows. They are fairly reasonable if they do the job.

Everything is speculation until tested. It seems like they will do better than the GEs in the lows. Typically highs benifit more from higher power rather than higher efficiency.

H11 low, H9 high. An H9 can be modified to fit H11 plug and may sometimes require trimming of the tabs for the H11 socket.

I've created a dedicated 3rd gen headlight thread to help provide higher information density on 3rd gen headlights. The info in this thread is good, but very scattered on not very discoverable for others. I'll be posting my future light testing including the H9 highs and lows over in this thread, and I highly encourage you to share your experiences over there as well:

I ordered directly from the Power Bulbs site. I reached out to them by email sent with my order confirmation. They’ve been responsive. But, at this point they have only said that it’s concerning. Indicated they’ve been having problems with customs. Hopefully will arrive soon.

I suspect the govt shutdown has caused custom delays.

I received my GE +130 bulbs from PowerBulbs & have installed them. Not overly thrilled but better then stock. IMO, slight increase in output but still have more of a yellowish tint then I was hoping for! Not bad for $34
