Honestly a ground tent and a blow up matress is the way to Glamp sometimes .I have a Marmot limelite 3 and we stuff a full queen blow up in there. And we just bring a battery powered pump.

And I have a RTT as well

After x amount of beers, walking around camp at night with no light is like roaming a foreign planet haha

My joke fu was weak.

I also use a queen size that's like a 1-1.5 ft tall. Still runs low on air in the middle of the night, but at least I'm not waking up on the ground like my old six inch air mattress.

 

Any port in s storm? Is that the saying?

Or if you're not fast enough to club a seal then just ask a whale

 

Mine is a 6". If I put that in the MSR I'd be using the rain fly as a mask. lmao

 

We've got a pretty tall coleman tent. I can almost stand up straight in the center and I'm 6'4".

 

I'll tell you what beats a tent or a air mattress. My hammock setup. I've never slept in a tent as good as I have in a hammock. On clear nights I just use the bug net and go to sleep looking at the stars. Others I use the rain fly. If the temp is going to get down to 70 though you better have something like a under quilt or a sleeping bag to get into. That convection with a breeze is real and you'll wake up freezing your ass off.

Glad I threw the sleeping bags in the truck on that first trip. About 2am it hit 70 and was cold af. Now the hammocks come on all trips and if we can't find trees close enough to where we're camping we go for the tent. Reminds me I need to order another XL set of straps. Also if you go that route a lot of the state parks are requiring 2" straps to protect the trees. Scout camps do the same.

Place we stay in Florida don't care, guess they figure with the next storm the tree may not even be there. lol
