Well crap! I might go ahead and order the 3 leaf AAL plus the 1/2” shims, the shims are only $18. That way if I need them I’ll have them. Having shoulder surgery on the 15th and plan on having a local shop do the install. I hate having someone else work on my truck.

Oh I have been the shoulder surgery route twice. It sucked and now am loosing my job because of it. IDK why i have had the results I have had with these aal's but both yielded 3" lift and they only advertised about 2". I did leave the overload in because I need the extra weight capacity. To us the overloads you will need to remove the front alignment brackets on them as they interfere with the ones on the aal. It's no big deal you just have to figure out a different way to secure the PB cable.

Mobil 1 Guarantees the engine if the oil is at fault of failure so I'm gonna run this a couple times and see. Might just be dark from old oil deposits breaking down.

Left shoulder was fixed last year, now my right. Excess bone growth is pinching my rotator cuff and ligaments. Damn DNA!

The same shit everyone else has.
I didn’t have to remove the alignment brackets on mine. I used the U bolts that came with the AAL, they’re just long enough for the 1/2” block.

My shell may be the reason I’m only getting ~2” of lift.

Regeared to 4:56 and added front & rear Eaton lockers 1,000 miles ago. So today I changed my diff oil. Feels like I’m in love with driving it all over again after driving on 35’s & 4.10’s for a year.

Stopped at the pay n spray.

    Took some pics.

Realigned it again. Much happier with the new caster settings.

Trimmed the stock mud flaps a butt ton. They now fit with the 285s.

Redid the steering column zip tie “mod”. Old one fell out after 3 years.

Good start! I hit my radiator & subframe with some flat black high temperature spray paint, really helps that grill mesh "pop"!

I have the old pre tsb springs with just 1 add a leaf, I'm at two inches as well. Going to upgrade to Old Man Emu leaf springs when I have the funds. Buying sliders this weekend, and the needle bearing will come first. I am meticulous about checking the old springs for signs of fatigue, cracks, and rust. They seem to be holding up just fine for now.

So just curious why dont you pick a oil of your choice, stay with it and have it tested at whatever frequency you think is right, then you can get a trend on your wear metals, base number, acid number water content etc....and then with data make a decsion based on data....Testing is usually $20 or so..fairly cheap when you consider what ur trying to protect...most good testing co's will include a small conclusion of results and or discuss them if you give them a call...not busting anyone's balls just curious....
